Close to Shin-Yamaguchi station; have an onsen; spacious room

Onn Yuda Onsen far exceeded our expectations. This was a stopover after visiting Yamaguchi, and Yuda Onsen is really close; its small and charming train station only 10 mn walk from the hotel (look for the numerous, legendary foxes along your way!) and there is a very convenient public parking next door. The hotel is quite new, and our room, though on the small side, had everything we wished for. The baths are shared with the next door, more upmarket hotel, and so is the dining/breakfast room : a covered path links them. If you want more privacy, there is a lovely private bath in Onn Yuda Onsen premices; 3500 y for an hour. All spaces are thoughtfully designed with understated elegance and an attention to practicality. There is a (discreet) vending machine with cold water and tea on 1st floor so you don't need to go out, and a microwave. The buffet breakfast is good, with a large range of produits. The people at the reception were lovely. And the price was, for this quality, a bargain.

A large hotel where we had a great rest after hiking around the volcanoes. We got cleaned up, did our laundry, and enjoyed the onsen. Nice view of the fields and mountains.

Parking in front of the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Good hot spring bath on level 1. And good breakfast. I wish I have booked more than a night.

The staff were really nice and assisted us when we had troubles with our room card. The facilities were also good and breakfasts was a really nice bonus.

A full size bath, and an ensuite large enough to roam around in! Most of our other hotels had ensuites that looked like space capsules and which were designed to make use of every micro-millimetre.... so having a shower meant knocking elbows against the basin which, in these modern toilets, is considered suitably-placed overhanging what passes for a bath nowadays. Not fun for an old guy! But the Royal Inn was obviously designed in the sixties or seventies (the bath and toilet were bright GREEN!), and we were grateful for the luxury of enough room to move freely. Sure, the carpet in the hallway looked as if it was as original as the full-size bath, and the hotel, in ultra-modern Japan, is something of an anomaly. Some reviews have taken exception to its unrefurbished age and condition, but we judged that -- after two weeks in the modern-style hotels all over Kansai -- as its major plus... it is already a bit of history!

Modern sleeping capsules. Good facilities. Only issue is sleeping capsules are not accessible from 1000h-1600h (cleaning hours).

This place is like a small paradise lost in between wet mountains and silencious highways. Achan is a heartful person made of smile and laughs; a little piece of true gentleness which succed into making this guesthous appear like a sunblast in the cold winter.  When I arrived there I was tired, I'm leaving it fresh like a morning sun, ready for news adventures. I've been in Japan for 5 months so I had the time to experience a few places… this one, with a few others, is levitating among the top. The bed I was in was very comfortable. Achan let me cook on the fire. The hand made bathroom is amazingly beautiful. Everyone is nice and open minded. So many good things, I couldn't tell them all, just go and experience it by yourself !

A peaceful and resting place to stay.Honestly, a true gem. The owners were amazing, so kind and thoughtful! The single room was perfect, clean and cosy. The shared bathroom was super clean as well, with all amenities. The shared space was so cosy, with a great view of the mountains, the space truly showed the passion of the owners. The coffee (extra charge) was good, and the food looked delicious. They allow you to eat your own food in the common space, that has a few kitchen appliances. They have a car/bike parking right next to the house. It was truly perfect, cannot recommend this place enough!

We loved our stay at Sansuien. The staff were welcoming and super helpful. We needed to send our bags to Hagi by takkyubin and they were very helpful getting this to happen. Thank you. The meals were all outstanding. 13 dishes for dinner and healthy, fresh, tasty and fun. Don't forget to look around their beautiful gardens.

Very nice house and host. We stayed here 1 night, was a good location to rest between Shin-Yamaguchi and Hagi (travel by car with a baby). Location is by a bus-stop, so you can het here by public transport (bus).

Great breakfast, good location, nice staff, great onset baths.

I enjoyed a two night stay here. The tatami room was very comfortable and spacious. The facility is large and had a relaxing vibe, which made for a nice getaway. Staffs were quite lovely, and everything was well organized and in good condition. I especially appreciated the outdoor onsen.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who did everything to make us feel very welcome. We had to adjust to having everything done for, the room and garden were exceptional and the staff did everything to make us feel very relaxed. The food at the hotel and around were delicious with lots of local delicacies. There is enough to do around yamaguchi so you don't get bored, however you are mostly at this hotel to relax and get away from the business of Japan.

The bed was comfortable, the shower worked well, and the instructions the host messaged me on the day of my booking explaining how to collect the keys were clear and helpful. The photos on booking.com that showed how to find the building and the room also came in very useful.
