I normally stay in chain hotels. However, because of the high demand, there were not many hotels available within my budget, and Karivollen was one of the options I found. If you have a car, the location is not a problem at all. It is easy to reach. The room, bed and bathroom were clean. The bathroom was not Hilton standard, of course, but it was more than good enough. Surprisingly, the bed was very comfortable, and the pillow was also good, at least for me. Hotel duvets are often too warm, but this one was very comfortable. There is no physical key or reception. You receive a digital key, which was easy to use. They also have parking and the possibility to charge an electric car, which is very useful in Norway. Finally, they have an open kitchen where you can prepare your own food and breakfast. They have all the necessary equipment, and they also have good coffee, which I really liked. Do not set your expectations too high, but for Scandinavian standards, I do not think you will be disappointed.

Good location with a free private parking. Good and fast connection by tram with the city center (tram comes every 30 minutes, takes about 8 minutes to ILA Station). The apartment was big enough with everything that you need for a very nice stay (has internet connection and also multiple streaming channels). It is definitely a very good option for accommodation if you are visiting Trondheim. Trondheim is a very beautiful city and there are many things to visit.

This was my favorite stay in Norway. Very lovely host, and the flat is so comfortable and feels like home. Kitchen had everything. Loved the wooden interior. The rooms have windows right next to the beds so you can fall asleep while admiring the view. Would have liked to stay longer <3
