Owners are supper nice. We recived a bucket of fruits at our arrival. There was also private parking. Our apartment was nice and clean with great terrace outside with sea view. Apartmant is placed above their banana trees, you are also able to walk around their fruits garden.

This accommodation was truly unique and had a breathtakingly beautiful property. The grounds are meticulously maintained, with lush plants and animals that add such charm to the entire place. The view from the terrace is simply stunning, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. It is on a hill & roads are small so not suitable to walk to...

It is on a hill & roads are small so not suitable to walk to Calheta. However the views are spectacular so once you have a car or are willing to get taxis it's a great place to stay. Weather was fabulous when we were there in early september even though wasn't as good elsewhere on the island. The 3 local bars you can walk to are very reasonably priced & very friendly.

Arco da Calheta is little bit far away from east part of the island, but very close to Rabacal platform where are many activities. Caltheta is very close and has 2 big beaches with nice sand and enough space to park a car, which is not common in whole Madeira island. For me, it was a good spot to explore the whole island with a car during a 10 day vacation.

When traveling by rental car, location was OK.

When traveling by rental car, location was OK. There was no night life around, restaurants, bigger supermarket Pingo Doce and beach appr 2.5 km away, so in no walking distance considering also the landscape:) Parking was very comfortable at the property we stayed the gate was a bit tight though but considering Madeira very good. The one of 3 sandy beaches in Madeira was nearby in Calheta, also the location is good to access islands middle part or western hiking trails and cities like Ponta do Sol, Seixal, Porto Moniz and Levada 25 Fonts, Fanal forest and Levada Nova/Dominho.

Ok as a base but definitely need a car, as its at an altitude of 450m can be misty at times. Marina close by is easily accessible plenty of parking with supermarket and restaurants. Access to “main” roads less than 10 minutes, 40 minutes to Funchal.

The house is somewhat remote from shops and bus routes and in our view a car is a must. The area is reasonably built up but we found it quiet. The Marina and beach areas of Calheta are excellent and a great place to spend the day; there is plenty of pay parking both on the road and in the two car parks, but as the area is popular these can get full, with very diligent traffic wardens. There are lots of restaurants a short drive away but we tended to cook at home or take sandwiches with us. There is an excellent Continente supermarket along the VE4 heading toward Soa Vicente about a mile north of Ribeira Brava. For other shopping there is the excellent 'Madeira shopping' centre in Santo Antonio.

parking down the narrow vereda is tight but convenient. The vereda continues down to town centre with snack bars. Large dressing area very useful. Good restaurants in nearby Madalena do Mar (A Poita). Hike right out the door along the ridge up to the Levada Nova or quick drive up to Rabacal hikes. The western end of the island is not far and has great hikes with far fewer crowds. Kitchen well equipped for prep and Pingo Doce at the beach very convenient. Carlos was responsive to minor issues we had. Engenho near the beach is very interesting with lots of sugar cane products to try.

We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this property. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Madeira. The location is also excellent and worked really well as a base for our daily trips, allowing us to explore different parts of the island easily. A special thank you to our host for her kindness and hospitality. She even brought us a lovely homemade cake, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch and made us feel very welcome. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

The place has a super view to the ocean. It has a great location, there are more restaurants and a small shop nearby which you can reach without car. The beach is like 10 mins with car. The venue is at the top of the hill, so it is silent and nobody walks near the garden. Our host was super friendly and helpful, we could reach him any time. The place has modern furniture, the rooms are spacious, it is comfortable. The bedroom has blackout curtains, so you can make the bedroom dark. You can have more parking options as well.

Stunning views, immaculate condition & prestinely clean. A perfect place to stay with a fantastic view of the ocean. The infinity pool garden was exquisite & a treat to swim in at sunrise & sunset. Inside there were nice added touches such as books & walking guide which were useful. Calheta is nearby with nice restaurants & supermarkets. You will definitely need a car to explore Madiera as it is extremely hilly!
