It was a pleasant uphill walk to the old town. The host Lucia was so kind and friendly. We opted for the breakfast and it was delicious. Fresh orange juice, coffee, coffee cake, fruit, buttered toast, and hard boiled egg all for five euro. The room was spacious and very clean. It was easy to find a parking spot along the road.

I picked up the keys at a tiny mercado, which was near to a slightly bigger one, which I went to first. They were kind at both places and helped straighten me out. The place was very cute and had way more than I needed for one night alone. Because it was so hot, I ended up sleeping on the futon in the living room where the A/C is. It was actually very comfy. I spent most of the next day in Cuenca, and they let me store my bags at the mercado. And then, despite a language barrier, they helped me call a taxi when I was struggling to call one. I felt very taken care of on my first solo overnight anywhere in Europe.

We ended up turning it into our base for exploring the region for 4 days! All the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and generous. And they allowed us to park our motorcycles behind the building in a locked up area at no cost. Make it a destination and you won’t be disappointed.
