My girlfriend and I had a sudden change of plans and Cathy arranged everything for us to check-in one day earlier at 2am. It's nice to meet people like her and her husband in life. The place was very comfortable and spacious. Beautiful neighborhood and really close to Athlone. It was very easy to use the fire stove and they left us a guide with suggestions on what to do, where to eat, etc. We loved it!

The setting was very nice, with close to all the attractions of the Mullingar area but in the countryside. The host's husband, who was filling in while she attended to family matters, was very friendly and even gave us a tour of his hurling stick manufacturing and shop. It's a gated yard, so it felt very secure, and the breakfast area had everything you needed for a little snack or a good start to the day!

Absolutely loved it! Avril and Neil were very welcoming and knowledgeable, they gave us some great recommendations for Athlone and places to go on the west coast. The beds were very comfortable and there was a good choice at breakfast. We were also very lucky that we got to meet their dog Harvey who is usually kept away from guests, but he came to say goodbye and is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks Avril and Neil, if we're ever in Athlone again we will 100% be staying with you!
