I love how the space feels like coming back home, the owner is really kind, funny and I enjoy talking with him and other travelers. We sat all together and had some fun.time. The room I stayed in was a dormitory, the futon mattress was comfortable. I enjoyed the location as well. Even though it's a 30 min walk to the station, it's a really historical area and you will enjoy walking around. I highly recommend it!.

It’s a quaint little inn 7 minutes away from the station, with unique vintage decor blended with Japanese culture. The staff was a really nice man who tolerated me and my friends’ shenanigans on New Year’s Day. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a Japanese style room with futons provided. We went during winter time so it was a bit cold, but there were plenty of heaters to keep us as warm as possible. Overall, me and my friends really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back sometime!

The service offered by the staff at Shikitei was incredible - and simply has to be experienced. This hotel is a short drive out of Morioka, and we highly recommend an afternoon trip to Lake Tazawa. On your return, you can enjoy the wonderful indoor or outdoor onsen. Plenty of information is provided, so don't worry if you have not used an onsen before. While the hotel is not new, it is kept very clean and has a charming style. The breakfast is an experience worth traveling for in itself, with many different dishes served and a card explaining the local origin of many of the ingredients. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and a highlight of our trip.
