Everything was great! It's the perfect place if you're looking for some relaxation and peaceful days. The hostel is located immediately at the sea. You can sit on the patio and enjoy the view and calming waves of the ocean. Both, the guesthouse and the café are beautiful and the owners are wonderfully kind and welcoming. There is also a kitchen which can be used by the guests.

Moriwaki San was very accommodating and considerate. He gave me information about the Susa shrine ( just next door!) and also recommended other nearby places. He can make very good coffee! So please try! The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The next morning the view over the river and fields was stunning and I went for a walk. I felt refreshed.

It was well placed for sightseeing, easily reachable from the Matsue Station by bus. There are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. Emi-san the owner, lives nearby and comes by every morning to give us the ideas for sightseeing and restaurants. Her English is excellent and she was really willing to help us enjoy the stay. She really made our stay in Matsue more pleasant.

Staying with Shokinkan is an unforgettable experience.Before our stay, I contacted the owner about shuttle bus and they replied promptly. To our surprise, the owner gave us a ride from Adachi museum to the accommodation. Talking of the location, Shokinkan is inside temple complex. You need to go through the pavement of the temple to reach there. Regarding room, it is spacious and the scenery from the window is beyond expression. Green fresh momiji with red azalea. What a combination! We are welcomed with matcha and local sweet upon arrival. Before dinner, taking a shower and immersed in the bath to erase the tiredness from travel. They provide Shojin Cuisine for dinner. No matter the food or the utensils are with high quality and sensibility. The owner’s wife suggested us the local sake, which matched with food perfectly. The portion of dinner is generous. Seasonal vegetables are very tasty. The next morning, before breakfast, we explored Kiyomizu temple during rain. After check out, the owner took us all the way back to Yasugi station.

The warmth of welcome was second to none. Such lovely people wanting to make our stay the best it could be and genuine in their desire to assist my husband who is visually impaired. The accommodations were authentic and comfortable. The meals were incredible - with interesting and truly delicious dishes. Care was shown in everything they did.
