The owner picked us up from a light up event because there was no bus connection so late at night. Saved us quite a lot of walking. Great value for money in a good location. The kitchen was well equipped as well.

You have your own space in the dormitory with tatami mats and it’s very close to a tattoo-friendly onsen, bus station and to a lake. The owner and the staff was friendly! There are not many people in the guesthouse, so it’s a really nice place to calm down.

The atmosphere is cozy, safe and warm, and the rooms are clean and good size for the purpose. The location in the middle of the park is great, and we could get a lift to the top station for further trekking in the morning. The people working there were super friendly and super super helpful, they helped with maps, routes, lunch boxes, picked us up further down the mountain when the public bus had retired for the afternoon, and were just so sweet. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The owner, Satoe, was incredibly kind, friendly, and very helpful throughout our visit. She can speak English very well ❤️. The house is clean, tidy, and well‑equipped, and the view from our room was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, and our children loved staying here because they could play in the snow right beside the accommodation. The location is also very convenient — the local bus stops directly at Kaimukura Bus Stop (just 90 meter from guest house), making it easy to reach. Ainokura is also very close by just 10 min from yamashita-ya. which was perfect for our trip. We were even given onsen coupon vouchers. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back again in the future. Thank you very much, Satoe 🤗🤗
