What a wonderful, unique stay this was! We loved Don Falang. It is a small private island on the mighty Mekong that provides everything that one looks for when travelling and exploring. The room is very comfortable with the most beautiful window view you can imagine. The terrace makes you feel you are on the river and from there you can observe the sunrises and the life on the river. Alex and Laymon are the sweetest and the most welcoming hosts. They made sure all our needs and wishes were met. There is a small beach on the island where you can swim or just observe the life on the river. What I will most remember about the island, though are the communal meals with other travellers. Every morning and evening we had fantastic breakfasts and dinners with other guests, exchanged stories and had the most wonderful time. The stay on Don Falang will stay as one of the best memories and the magic moments of our travels to Laos.

Best Guesthouse in Don Det. Beautiful house directly at the river front. Cute balconies with hammocks, seperated from each other with wodden gitters to not restrict the view. Super clean. Very friendly owner. She arranged both of our transfers and everything went perfectly. The location was perfect, 5 min walk to the city centre but quiet for the evenings.

Great location on the river with night markets and plenty of other food and drink options close by if needed.

It is a newly opened hostel in Pakse, If you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax, this is it – definitely not a party hostel. The owner is absolutely wonderful and truly passionate about his hostel. He even created a personalized walking route for me through Pakse. He’s always friendly, approachable, and eager to help. The hostel itself is spotless and beautifully designed, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere AND they serve the best coffee I had in Laos! Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable place with exceptional hospitality.

We had an amazing stay at Xavier’s homestay in Pakse. Xavier was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He helped us rent motorbikes hassle free at a reasonable price and gave us tips on exploring the beautiful Bolaven Plateau. The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, and we really felt at home during our three-night stay. I am very sensitive to bugs and we had absolutely no issues with that throughout our stay at Bolaven trail guesthouse. The host even surprised us with a fantastic baguette for breakfast, which was a lovely touch. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better host or a better place to stay in Pakse. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experience in Laos. Thank you to Xavier for making our trip so special.

The hotel had all modern reqiurements and my room had a beautiful view of the Mekong River and a stunning sunrise that I could see from my bed if desired. The restaurant was excellent and it was great to be able to cool off and relax beside the pool. Although I did not have time to use them there were bicycles available free to ride to the town and surrounding countryside. The staff were helpful and polite.

Darren was extremely friendly. The location was great, just a short walk out of the busy area. There's a ton of cute sunset bars within 3 minutes of walking. Definitely worth it!
