The view of the room was wonderful. It was a well designed, cozy room. Everything was clean. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel’s location was perfect, very close to the city center.

The Golden Crown Hotel is a 5-star hotel located in Ampitya, Kandy, Srilanka. It was an amazing property, and the view from our balcony as well as from the pool was spectacular. We truly enjoyed the scenery, the kindness of the staff, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent.

The hotel staff provided very friendly and helpful service. While searching for hotels in Kandy, I found many budget hotels with lower rates on Booking.com, but this hotel truly deserves a higher ranking. The location is a little difficult to reach, but PickMe makes it easy, and the hotel also provides tuk-tuk services at reasonable prices to visit Kandy. The view is perfect, and overall we were very satisfied. Highly recommended for all tourists looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly hotel.

I liked absolutely everything about my stay here: spacious female dorm with big table and separate zone for suitcases, spacious bathroom as well, comfy bed with a socket and private lighting. The whole area is super clean. You have access to tea and coffee 24/7 and can enjoy them on the terrace with nice view. It's around 20 min walk from the centre or 200-300 lkr by tuktuk. Udaya, the host, is super nice and super helpful, always in touch and giving tips on every question you have.

We stranded in BYLake during the big storm in Nov. 2025. No net, no electricity... Our host did everything to create a safe and harmonic atmosphere amoung all guests. He invited us to a litte homeparty with candles and all other things, that could be found spontanously in the house. I traveled a lot, but such an extraordenary, exceptional hospitality I did not see before. Beside that this is a very nice, quite, central place to stop over
