I totally loved my stay here. Guiltor and his lovely sister who have opened their family home to guests are the most delightful people I have met so far. The Hospedaje is only 8 minutes walk from the centre . There is a a really nice courtyard and the views over the town towards the hills are spectacular. But it’s their hospitality that shines… superb breakfasts.. plenty and something local and different every morning.. it really fills you up..and if you don’t finish your place they have something to say about it..in the nicest hospitable way! Stay here it’s wonderful!

This place is amazing! The people are awesome; super friendly and welcoming, very helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious, and different each day. The bed was comfy, the wifi worked perfectly, the shower was hot, and the view of the waterfall was awesome! Location perfect for a day-walk to the falls, and near to some pretty decent restaurants. Hummingbirds in the trees just off the balcony, really quiet, just a slice of bliss!

This is more like a hotel than a hostel and the common areas inside and out are lovely to hang out in. Breakfast was lovely too and all of the staff I met could not do enough to help you in any way they could with bus advice or local tours etc.

I staid two weeks instead of two nights, like I had first planned. Nancy, the hostess, is amazing and super generous. She invited me to try her homemade drinks and to her friend's birthday party at the hostel. She is also very knowledgeable about touristic things in the area and helped me find information about specific locations several times. The hostel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the central square. There are a few small shops just next to the hostel if you need and the street is very quiet at night. The room and bed is comfy, there are shared spaces and a small shared kitchen (in the back of the garden). There is a big courtyard and small garden, perfect for travellers with dogs (like me). The shared bathroom and toilet was always clean and the water in the shower was hot. The different breakfasts (for an extra fee) were delicious! Thanks/gracias/merci for a wonderful stay :)

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Gocta Andes Lodge is located in Chachapoyas. Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast each morning at this lodge, just 6 km from the Gocta waterfalls. Great view of waterfall. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful

We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!
