We had a lovely stay at the Plantation. From our balcony we could see the sea and neighbouring Pico. Andreas and Barbara were great hosts. Andreas shared many recommendations and tips for Faial with us, and Barbara makes a terrific breakfast with each day another special thing such as pastel de nata or pancakes. The bananas and oranges for breakfast came from their own plantation in front of the house and you could really tast the difference. The whole house is super cozy and we appreciated the huge array of guide books, especially the laminated map and hiking cards, which came in super handy. All in all, it was just a perfect stay.

We had one rainy morning in which we read our books in the sitting room area, which was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was very nicely appointed as well. We had the family room, which was larger than we needed, but allowed us to spread out nicely. We would have liked to stay for longer!

Lucia, our host, made our stay truly special. She welcomed us with homemade cakes – Christmas cake, Carnaval cake – and provided everything we needed, from coffee and tea to eggs and honey. The 3-room chalet was perfect and very cosy. Highly recommend! 🌟

Comfortable Accommodations: Casa BuonVento in Horta offers a guest house with free WiFi, parquet floors, and sea views. Some rooms include a private bathroom, work desk, and wardrobe. Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, all their tips were spot-on and helped us make the most of our short stay on Faial (2 nights). The house is beautifully renovated and decorated. The communal kitchen is well equipped and organised, with ckearly marked separate storage spaces for each of the rooms. This is a wonderful pkace to spend a few nights or even a week in Horta.
