The beaches at East Ballina are very beautiful, accessible, have bike tracks, walking tracks, and information signs. Angels Beach was amazing, good shell collecting. Didn't mind driving a short distance into town to eat or pick up groceries. Easy to get around town, well signed. Visit the wall break at the mouth of the river and follow the path reading signs of the history of Ballina. May get to see dolphins!
A great location, a clean and very comfortable room. Very easy check in..lovely staff. The most fantastic dinner at the hotel that was far beyond my expectation. Great location to everything. I will definitely stay there again . Thank you
Stunning and walk-for-miles sweeping beaches which are too big to get crowded. Wild unspoilt nature nearby the shopping village. Easy to get around and friendly locals, art galleries and boutiques. It's not cheap to stay, shop or eat here by any means, but not over the top prices in most cafes and restaurants. Plenty of facilities and choices for couples and families or the lone wolf surfers.
Ballina is a well kept secret however it has been discovered as an alternative to the hype and bustle of Byron Bay. Coffees are still reasonably priced and there is an absence of social media wannabes posing on the beaches. I would recommend a trip to the Seven Mile Brewery for some therapeutic tonics. You might get lucky and spot a 'celebrity' zipping past on their way to their private chartered jet. The Ballina RSL is a good spot for a value feed plus some cokes, smokes and pokes. Mike Nolan is rumoured to hang out there occasionally. Have a yarn to him if you have done any damage to the rental, he'll fix it for a cashie.
It has super beach for an enjoyable outings. On one end is the Richmond River breakwater. The beach is quite broad and with sand dunes in the nature conservation area. There was quite an interesting spot among the rock outcrop where a rectangular pool has been created for kids to immerse in. Ideal spot to watch Whales. there is many types of accommodation for people, great shopping and many different eating places for many to try
When I go on holidays my fave is to go out in the afternoon around 3:30/4 to have a drink and tapas. Everything shuts down in Lennox Monday to Thursday and then they open up. We ended up having to drive to Ballina. Not ideal..
