The motel is off the main road and there is parking right in front of the room. Before we arrived they sent a code for the door by email. This made things really easy in terms of checking in. We only stayed on night, but the main area of town is less than a 5 minute drive.

Ballina had a lot to offer in regards to dining with beautiful views of the river. I'm sure there would be a lot more to do although it was only a one night stop for us. Close to Lennox Heads so its a gorgeous little stop over on your trip along the coastline.

East Ballina area has something for everyone.
East Ballina area has something for everyone. A surf club and patrolled beaches, child friendly riverside swimming areas, restaurants, cafes, pubs, coastal walks and views. The airport is only 15 mins away by car. Plenty of folk out walking dogs, or riding bikes too. We recommend Capiche at the East Ballina Surf Club. It's right on the ocean, so the views are incredible.

Lennox head is a great spot with so much to do nearby.
Lennox head is a great spot with so much to do nearby. If you have transport, visit Ballina for a spot of fishing or Byron. The main drag has plenty of options for food and great coffee, all in walking distance.

Broken Head National Park is stunning.
Broken Head National Park is stunning. If you want a holiday to truly relax, this is it. It's far enough out of town to disconnect and be in nature, watch wales, surf and star gaze. You can also walk around the headland or even to the lighthouse and town from here. Suffolk Park is only a few km away if you need some quick supplies. Plenty of day parking also and the holiday park is very good. Exceptional natural beauty!

East Ballina has a fantastic off leash dog beach. Good cafes and restaurants. Loads of walking tracks and clean beaches. At the end of the breakwater we saw a large pod of Dolphins and further out we could see whales breaching. Shelley Beach was the best for swimming.

Very pretty town on the plateau above Ballina, great variety of specialty shops, cafes and eating options. Houses next door to the motel had very interesting front yards which could keep children and adults amused for ages looking at the weird and wonderful collection of items displayed. 10 minute drive into Ballina for all the big shops.

A great place to stay if you are wanting to check out the more well-known areas, and want some peace too. It's a beautiful place.
Byron is a short trip up the road, as is Lennox Head and loads of other places. I'd recommend Broken Head as a home base for a holiday in the area.
