Porto Seguro town is cute, smallish, with some nice...

Porto Seguro town is cute, smallish, with some nice restaurants. Best place to stay is south (Areial d'Ajuda or Trancoso) - it's a little hillier, green and leafy, and there's more properties right on the beach. If you want a beach partying experience, go north of Porto Seguro.

Lots of nice day trips available when you're not partaking...

Lots of nice day trips available when you're not partaking in the many restaurants or local beaches. I recommend a day trip to Caraiva, a town of sand streets with no cars. I also used Pontal Tourism to take a whale-watching tour. During birthing season, whale viewings of mothers/calves are guaranteed.

Trancoso is an upscale village on the coast South of Porto...

Trancoso is an upscale village on the coast South of Porto Seguro, an hour away by flight from Rio or Salvador de Bahia. The beaches are beautiful and crowded at all, with few hotels on the beach and large open stretches of sand in between. The village itself is really nice, really upscale with lovely restaurant and shops. Beginning of June there were no crowds, lovely weather.

An incredible experience, but can be improved much, airport does not have a decent structure for tourists. cleaning in the city may be better. and Security once you can only go in certain parts of the city.

It's a lovely town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants.

It's a lovely town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The old square is very quaint and a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. The beaches are just gorgeous, you can walk for miles and stop for a coconut water and enjoy the stunning landscape. I travelled alone and felt completely safe.

Trancoso is an absolute must if you are looking to explore...

Trancoso is an absolute must if you are looking to explore Brazil and Bahia. It has stunning beaches and views, but also has a very lively atmosphere with plenty of amazing restaurants and shops, easily walkable around Quadrado. The food is amazing, with plenty of amazing local cuisine options. Would highly recommend visiting Praia dos Nativos, Praia do Espelho e Praia da Tartaruga.

Amazing place to rest, have fun, brilliant for families.

Amazing place to rest, have fun, brilliant for families. The city has great history, wonderful beaches. Also we did visit the indigenous Pataxó tribe, it was very interesting to get to know their history and culture. Overall lots to do. I really recommend Porto seguro me and my family are looking forward to go back.

The village is very touristy now, lot different than 20 years ago, when it was very rustic and authentic. To be expected, I hear you say, but they could have done better to preserve the feel of it. Having said that, it still is a nice place to visit, with lots of restaurants and hidden gems. Recommend a long beach walk towards Trancoso, as the beach gets lot better further away you get...

We stayed in the quadrado: Gorgeous little “boho-style” town, incredible food, very romantic, gorgeous beaches but I would definitely recommend renting a car as you need it to discover the beaches in the area!
