I had a wonderful stay at Horus One Room Apartment. The staff were excellent—very friendly and always willing to assist, which made me feel truly welcomed. The room was cosy, spotless, and perfectly suited for a night stay or layover. Its location is incredibly convenient, being less than a 10‑minute ride from the airport. On top of that, it offers extremely good value for money—the best price in town for the quality you get. Overall, it was a comfortable and hassle‑free experience. I would definitely recommend this place 100% and will certainly be coming back again.

This property is lovely, its in a clean and safe gated estate, you feel at home as soon as you arrive and the host Natasha is exceptional and miles above what I have experienced in the past. She is attentive, provides additional help where necessary and acts quickly to resolve any problems. This is a great apartment to stay at and would definitely stay again.

The lighting at the pool area was tooo good! We took great pictures there! A very spacious kitchen, dining area & living room. The host also provided really fun games which enhanced our experience.

Loved the friendly locals, one guy at the garage helped us we were lost nd our phones not working, the guy bought airtime and called for us without expecting anything in return. We also went to buy local food, it was delicious 🤤

We had a very good experience at Ramotswa. Kgosi Mosadi was very hospitable and hosted us for about an hour even though we did not have an appointment with her.
The Batswana in general can be more friendly and hospitable. At restaurants and tourist attraction the officials are just rude and hostile.

Gaborone is a small city and the centre is easily walkable...
Gaborone is a small city and the centre is easily walkable but it does get very hot. The road system is good but few public transport options.
Facilities overall are good with modern shopping malls, good hotels and supermarkets all in abundance.
It feels safe - certainly in the city centre - and there are fewer signs of poverty and homelessness than you would see in many developed countries these days. People are generally friendly but not in your face.
Plenty of eating places and often cheaper to avoid the larger hotels.
If you are a runner, there are trails up to some of the hills surrounding the city or you can just loop round the centre. Best in the early morning. You'll have plenty of company.
