Luis was extremely communicative and arranged pick up from the airport even though I got in at midnight. The apartment was lovely. He also picked me up at 7 am to drop me off for a shuttle but the place ended up being bad and so he offered to drive me to another safe location. He was very kind and helpful. Would highly recommend

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I travel in and out of San Jose airport almost monthly. I was looking for something basic, clean, safe, and economical. This is a home where the mother, a son, and a daughter are and the host goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Although economical, the place is VERY clean and is exactly what you would expect in a typical tico home. I 100% will be staying here routinely and look forward to getting to know the family better.

I love the Courtyard for an overnight stay before or after a flight from SJO airport! It is the closest hotel (literally 5 minutes drive) plus they offer an airport shuttle that comes around every 30 minutes and collects you for free! I loved the excellent breakfast buffet - for a Courtyard that was a 5-star buffet! I stayed at other higher-ranked hotels with fewer options! Amazing! The staff also is so great, I loved chatting with them. They helped me with some questions unrelated to the hotel - and were very helpful and sweet.

It was in a perfect location for an early morning flight. The room and bathroom were great. There was Netflix on the television. They offer free airport pickup. They provide a taxi phone number if you are going to the airport in the middle of the night. José was the driver who picked me up at the airport for free and he is the taxi driver I booked with in the middle of the night. He was great! The staff answer your questions quickly as well on WhatsApp or on Booking.

Location and Transport
Juan Santamaría International Airport is located in Alajuela, which is 12 miles (20 kilometres) to the west of San José. A taxi will cost about CRC 19,500 (USD 34) and take about 20 minutes. There are buses that run from the airport to all over Costa Rica, and there are connections between the terminal and the city centre that run every five minutes, from around 04:00 until 19:00.

Proximity to Airport! This facility standards were substandard. My wife hurt her foot on a dangerous doorstop, sewer gas was overwhelming, no hot water, air conditioner was not hooked up, pumping hot air back into the room. The stairs right from ground level were dangerous. English was non existent with staff. They were courteous and helpful. There were no privacy coverings on the windows. Open hole in Bathroom ceiling.

Convenient hotel, close to the airport. Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly, kind and attentive.
Only downside was breakfast, which was a bit limited. Food was good and fresh.

Nice little place with great restaurant on side and a parking, staff that is very friendly, nice garden and a pool. The beds could be better but room was nice and spacious. This was our second time and will be back. It is a good option for before or after airport night. Only downside is the sound of the airplanes and a construction noise from behind the rooms that starts from early morning.

This was a great place to stay for one night.
This was a great place to stay for one night. For a small additional fee, I was picked up at the airport and very early the next morning I was taken to where I had to meet my tour bus. Also, after I left I discovered that I had left my phone charger in the room. I contacted them and they were kind enough to take it to the hotel in San Jose where I would be staying in a few days.

Alajuela is the area of metro San Jose that is next to the airport. Old central american town center with some old buildings and then various neighbouroods around it. Really not much to see. Main reason to be here is the airport.

Cute little town near the airport. Probably not a destination, but, if you have a night to kill before flying out, it's fine. Otherwise, there isn't anything I know of to draw visitors. Couple cute restaurants on the main street. Felt safe walking around after dark.

I was there one night because it was close to the airport. I would not hang out there for a significant length of time. Not a good place to be after dark. Also came across a suitcase on a sidewalk. It had obviously been stolen and rummaged through.

We did more in San Antonio than we expected to do. The church in the center of town was welcoming, and there are a lot of restaurants with good food and service. The bussing to other areas (San Jose and Heredia) is well marked and has an appropriate schedule. Plus, the area felt safe to walk after sunset. Because of its convivence, we extended our hotel stay to stay in the area, and only bussed to San Jose for the day.

Excellent location -- adjacent to the University of Costa Rica campus and not far from the SJO airport. The hotel is attractive, nicely decorated and displaying interesting collections of curios. The included breakfast was very good; particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit, good cheese and fruit juice. The 24-hr coffee machine in the reception area was a very nice touch.

Beautiful, brand new hotel with modern finishings and very helpful staff. We stayed here one night after flying into SJO. The nearby food court had a few good late night food options (til 10pm), which was convenient. The hotel food sounded great as well but we were looking for something less pricey.
