Walking distance to the airport !!! It is a local community center with bar/restaurant and some rooms..We got upgraded to a privite room opposite the street, welcome drink.... hospitality of the management, humble pricing, super clean room.

I like the fact that it was clean, the location was very convenient as we needed to get to the airport. Also, the lady at the hotel was very helpful.
This 4-star hotel is located nearby the Airport and is reachable by train, bus or taxi. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and breakfast is available from 06:30.

Had the easiest stay I've ever had. Place was as described, easy to find, pristine clean, stocked with more items than most fancy hotels like extra blankets, multiple shower gels, toothbrush and toothpaste, extra toilet paper, plenty towels, all cooking and cutlery you'd need and more. Honestly I wish more rented apartments were upto this standard. Was walking distance from the airport which was my main requirement.There's also a grocery not even 2 min away that's open pretty late as well as some kebab and fast food in general options just around the corner.

Germany’s third largest airport is located just over 4 miles (7 kilometres) from downtown Düsseldorf. The S7 and S11 trains run between Düsseldorf International Airport and the city, with journeys taking just over ten minutes. Another option is to take a bus, which arrive and depart in front of the main Arrivals hall.

Went for a concert and stayed 3 nights (concert was in the 2nd night). The city itself is pretty bland and there's not much to see or to do. Not worth a visit on itself and if ever visiting for an event, a quick in and out is better as there's nothing really unmissable there.

Ratingen has nice historic center with few restaurants and church in the middle. Overall, it is calm, but this area is populated mostly by industrial companies, warehouses, etc.
Getting there is pretty hard from Dusseldorf, since buses are not going that often and you usually travel for around 45 minutes to 1 hour there.
Trams are available which are the best way of transport from Ratingen to Dusseldorf.

Neuss was a nice place, to be honest, I still don´t know if it is the part of Dusseldorf or not. However, Neuss is at the bank of the river and pretty beautiful. I stayed with my wife and two kids, and had a wonderful time in there. I would go there again some time.

We went there to visit Dusseldorf and the Christmas Market, but we enjoyed the nearby nature and Neanderthal Museum much more. Especially the Museum is worth the trip with its complex and thought provoking exposition.

We needed a place close to the airport to sleep over for an early flight. The room met our needs, was clean and comfortable and had lovely restaurants in the area where we could have dinner. Check in and out was effortless.

The hotel was close to the River Rhine: there runs a lovely walk along the Rhine under mature trees, so it's shady and comfortable, with really nice views, it's inviting to sit and watch the ships go by, large meadow areas for children to play
the town has all facilities, plenty of different shops in the pedestrianised road running from the station to the market square, restaurants, cafe's, ice cream parlours

I love everything about Düsseldorf, despite the language barrier because I only speak English. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, got confused with the trains but i somewhat always found someone willing to help. The restaurants were very good had my sisters birthday dinner at the Dox it was amazing, enjoyed local restaurants like Casanova, Mr Sha and enjoyed the night life at their local pubs and clubs had a karaoke night and everyone was just so fun. I loved the local attractions like the upside down train and went to Phantasialand. Went shopping and great buys. Overall I loved all of Dusseldorf

Great suburb of Dusseldorf with affordable hotels and a very good and and cheap connection to Dusseldorf city center. Just take the U72 from Ratingen Mitte to Düsseldorf Hellriegelstraße. Get out at the Düsseldorf Heinrich-Heine-Allee to be in the middle of the Altstadt & Konigsallee.
Single trip for an adult is 2,80.

It's a small town away from the busy city centre of Dusseldorf. Its a town that is full of its own history and heritage. English not commonly spoken here but they will understand you. A town that is full of arts & culture such as "CLEMEN SELS MUSEUM & CHURCH"..if its something that you are looking for. Transportation coverage is quite good.
A town that has both cultural and modern amenities to look for.
Culturally; there are museums and famous old buildings that you can see. Modern...there are places that you can shop such as a mall and some shops that offer products at an affordable pricing. Bring your own bag to keep the stuff you bought as no bags are given for your purchase.
Its very quiet on SUNDAYS with 90% of the shops and malls are closed. Just few eateries that is open and probably will be closed by about 4pm on sunday. Most days..the town will come alive around 10am and sleeps by 5pm. So plan your day there well.
Do look out for the clock songs that will play in the afternoon. there are 2 buildings that has a clocks with bells that sings & rings.
I tried some pastry at this "OEBEL CAFE". i tried the bacon&egg sandwich ...and its tasty.
Just like any other city's or town that you go too; you got to be careful with your belongings.
