Colonge is a nice place for a short visit.
Colonge is a nice place for a short visit. While the old city is nice and the cathedral is a sight to behold, there's not much to do there aside from the conventions and mixers around them. So generally, if you have a reason to go there, seeing the city is nice, but you don't need more than a couple of days for that.

Nice chilled out city.
Nice chilled out city. Old town is easy to navigate and the cathedral is worth visiting. Rhine river area is pleasant with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants.
A couple of days/ weekend is perfect to catch the sights.

We traveled to Cologne by train.
We traveled to Cologne by train. The rail system is easy to navigate and we stayed within walking distance of the station. The Cathedral is amazing and there is a large shopping precinct. We enjoyed sitting at a riverside bar, watching the passing parade. There are excellent restaurants too. Our favourite was a Viet Thai restaurant.

A nice, vibrant city, very good service in almost all the places we've been. Not many tourist attractions or monuments etc which make the staying less stressful to catch up with all the 'must see' places. Very easy to walk around, nice promenade and views of the river. A very nice city for a couple of days, if you want something not boring but not 'too much" either.

We really enjoyed Cologne!
We really enjoyed Cologne! It is a beautiful and atmospheric city with charming streets, impressive architecture, the magnificent cathedral and a lovely riverside promenade. The people were warm and friendly, and we also enjoyed the cosy cafés and delicious food. We would happily visit Cologne again!

There was such a variety of places to eat and drink. The transport in the city was excellent and value for money. To be able to walk along the Rhine in either direction for Kms was a lovely experience.

This is a large hotel located in a very nice park outside of the Cologne city centre. The building itself is rather ugly, but very modern inside. I chose to stay here because I was attending a conference hosted at their conference centre. My room was fine and had everything I needed, including a small fridge; I was also given a tea-kettle upon request. The breakfast was very good. The staff are nice and helpful. The possibility to opt out of the rather useless everyday room-cleaning is appreciated.

Location was fantastic. We travel by train so any hotels near train stations meet our expectations, but this was fabulous as bonus is the proximity to a stunning Cathedral that we visit every time we are in Cologne and a beautiful walk alongside the river. The room was clean although the carpets in the room (well hoovered) seem a bit dirty - stained (as if never washed- just hoovered?). The door in the room we stayed was not great either - hard to close, but we managed, so all well.

The location of the hotel is perfect! Walking distance to the main attractions of Cologne. Also, i love the style of the hotel were we have a kitchen to prepare our food and even do laundry plus the little gym. I must say this is a gem for all travellers. They have a parking too for those who come in by car. Personnel are so nice and love the free hot drinks in their cafeteria. Highly recommended hotel in Cologne

The proximity to all things. It is right at the heart of the city centre. A short stroll to all the museums, Cologne Cathedral etc + all the IT joints! I liked that the hotel offered free assortment of refreshing drinks in the lobby for all the guests :)
