The city looked big on the nap but it's actually much smaller so most attractions are easily reached, there are some cool things to see but I was a little disappointed with the general look of the city as I was expecting a quaint looking little town/city.
The brauhauses were also disappointing as I was expecting to be able to buy a stein of beer but you only got small glasses equal to 1/3 of a pint.

I enjoyed my walking tour with Freewalk Cologne.
I enjoyed my walking tour with Freewalk Cologne. Our guide was really engaging and made me like Cologne more than I would have. He gave us a very good introduction to the history, culture, and people, what makes Cologne the city it is today. It is very easy to get around Cologne, and it's only half an hour on the train to Dusseldorf, another great city with great museums and restaurants. The old city is right near the Cathedral which is directly opposite the railway station. You can stop off on your railway journey for just a few hours and enjoy some sights or there are lots of hotels if you want to stay a bit longer.

We enjoyed the beautiful picturesque city with lovely views of river, cathedral, old churches and colourful houses. The train station was within walking distance and so were the shops. There were many restaurants and cafes and the food was delicious!!
The whole hotel felt very fresh and new. Definitly the best Ibis I have stayed on.
I choose this location outside Cologne to have better parking options compared to an hotel inside the city. The parking space was big, for free and close (just outside) the hotel.
Beds and the rooms in general was fine! Ventilation and AC was really good which is not always the case in Germany!
The hotel bar had good beer options as well as good snacks.
Hotel is on Cologne Main Station concourse so ideal for someone arriving into Cologne very late at night or leaving early. Due to train problems in Germany I arrived very late so spent very little time there, but check-in was 24/7 and easy enough, and my room was clean.
New Hotel/Hostel with all modern facilities.
Must stay place for your next cologne visit.
Free Bed linen, Bath and Hand Towels which you don’t get in Germany. Also you don’t have to bring the used linen to lobby like in other German Hotels.
The best hostel ever !!
Everything that is not specified in the "negative" section was actually great. Great design, comfortable bed, remarkably nice and helpful staff (especially considering that it's a mostly automated hotel), and the best coffee I had in germany in my life.
Location was good. Travelled for a game in Cologne so hotel was about midway between the city centre and the stadium. Breakfast was fine, maybe could of been slightly more choice but then I was late to arrive so maybe getting there earlier pays.
