You can check in at the hotel using automatic check-in even after the registration desk is closed, essentially around the clock. Please contact the staff for instructions. Everything was perfect. Pretty flexible check-in. The distance from city centre is around 6 or 7 km, but there is U-bahn station near the hotel. 5 minutes walk to Lidl, Kaufland, McDonalds or Domino's so eating is not an issue at all.
Rooms were spacious, everything was clean, hotel has towels and private bathroom is sufficient. We also really appreciated a big table where we could easily eat all the stuff we bought.
We (group of three people) paid 240 euros for 2 nights and we got big room with actually 5 beds so we were really satisfied.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone :)
*Also perfect for people coming to Hamburg by plane, the hotel is 20 minutes walk from the airport and the path there is suitable for suitcases as well.

The harbour, Elbphilharmonie, also the main shopping area around Mockebergestrasse and the Alsters. We enjoyed both galleries we visited - Deichtorhallen and Museum für Kunst und Gewebe. It was very cold, about 8 degrees colder than Frankfurt, and felt even colder due to the windchill so bear that in mind.

Very easy to use and access the city's public transport and always on time, clearly marked and information boards. Good value for money 5 day ticket around £35. Even in -10 degrees paths were clear and all services ran to plan. Some run down parts but generally clean and tidy.
