I stayed at St James Guest House and absolutely loved it. I really appreciated the warm welcome — the staff were attentive, helpful, and very friendly. I would definitely go back. The location is great: about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal and 5 minutes from the city center.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Room facilities are simple but perfectly adequate. Nice view from the terrace. I was given a choice of several breakfast options, all of which were very good. The location is 2.4 km from the center, up a hill, quite far from the city. Consider a car, although there is a local bus to Goodwill. The landlady was excellent. Helpful and kind.

It had a lovely feel in the flat. Nicely laid out and everything I needed. Gamal was a great host, friendly, approachable and helpful. I loved the colour scheme of the place it was really calming and the balcony was the highlight!

Very comfortable bed and room, nice and quiet with good air con. The host is lovely and kindly dropped us to the gorge when the buses weren't running. It's about a 15min walk to the town centre

The city of Roseau itself was not very big, but you can explore the island of Dominica with rich nature and culture from this city. I joined a tour to visit gorge, waterfalls, hot spring spa and Champagne Reef, and it was really good! I hope I had more time to visit Kalinago, museum (it was closed on weekends) and other places.

I liked that everyone is so willing to guide you where you need to go and the bus will drop you where you ask them too usually or direct your path.
The people are friendly and helpful which made it easy for me to get around.
I ate at Pearl cuisine where I had a delicious and wholesome fish broth. Next door I was directed to Pure Bliss where I had a very good massage, so I booked another for next week.
I ate at Italia opposit whitchuch building. Delicious fish meal, lots of variety local dishes.
I took the bus to Portmouth and had the boat ride on the indian river. It was a relaxing and enjoyable, although I was alone I felt quite safe as my experienced guide pointed out the white crabs,ect.. and plants/flowers of interest. Another guide who was off duty with her 3 year old daughter, joined my boat on my way back.

Roseau- we are older adult travelers (60+) fit & agile. We rented a car for our stay. Not for the faint of heart right hand drivers of the USA- who do not regularly drive in traffic. Streets are tight and very little room to walk about the city. The Botanical gardens and Jack’s walk were nice. The museum is very informative. When cruise ships are in port it can be crowded- However the Dominican people are incredibly kind and friendly. We did not stay in Roseau proper- we stayed in an area called Castle comfort- much quieter.For us, Roseau was a city we had to travel through to get to destinations like Tralfagar falls, Titou Gorge and Freshwater Lake.
