The location was perfect as we were finishing our walk for the day on the Camino Frances. It was close to shopping and other restaurants although we are our meals on site. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

What you expect when booking a hostel on the Camino de Santiago is at least a warm place, especially when you arrive wet and tired. That was NOT what happened. When I arrived, the hostel was still closed (I was there at the proposed check-in time). When opened, it was not clean, the trash bins were full from the previous day and the available blanckets were with hair of others on it. I don´t recomend!!!

I planned my first day of walking on the Camino to end at Oncina - simply because the place and restaurant looked so appealing. I was not disappointed at all. The food was amazing and my room was lovely. I would come back just to stay here and maybe stay longer. A quaint little fork in the road.

Walking on the Camino Frances route that parallels the highway. Didn't see anything of the town, as lodging fronted the highway. Would recommend walking the route to Villar de Mazarife from Leon, if possible to find accommodations there.

Second visit to Leon and a great sized city, easy to get around with plenty to see. Cathedral is mpressive. Casa Botines is worth a visit and discovered Museo de San Isidoro on this trip which was also very interesting.

We stayed 6 nights because wanted a base over Easter - whereas probably 4 nights in this fabulous city probably enough at any other time of the year.
But the delight of the Easter Holy Week was the various religious processions and so recommend trying to be in Leon at this special time.
