Mónica is a sweetheart and her apartment was sparkling clean! On top of that, I had everything I needed there, and more! She left me a bottle of wine, some water, and some breakfast goodies. So thoughtful and I truly appreciated it all!

This is an incredible old (13th century) building. It is extremely centrally located to the historic city center. The home boasts an unbelievable number of unique treasures including the original wine press and cellar in the basement and a beautiful library and salon on the upper floors. The host also demonstrates authentic and gracious hospitality. His care for us from the moment we arrived was such a blessing. It was an unforgettable evening.

The apartment was managed by Julien. He was very helpful. He provided and prepared food for us and left it in the refrigerator and on the table. Our room was on the 3rd floor while the kitchen, living room and a huge patio were on the first floor. We had all we need and could possibly imagine. Thanks Julien

The front desk registration staff were fantastic. They were so helpful and generous with their time. They were there for us no matter the request -- everything from bringing us extra pillows to arranging taxis and answering our many questions, always with a smile. The cleaning staff were also wonderful and the breakfast room, staff and food were excellent. Large, clean and comfortable room, and a fridge. We also appreciated the pleasant outdoor patio area and the late night bar/restaurant for drinks and a meal, served by friendly and happy staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful city and people.
Beautiful city and people.
It is a Jewel in Camino de Santiago.
The best is just walk through the streets and get lost finding all amazing historical treasures this city offers. From its magnificent Church of Santa María (with so many treasures including the burial of Cesra Borgia), but with its amazing welcoming flare, wee you can find a place to sit to pray, admire or just have a moment of solace and peace.
The Plaza Mayor, the old Walls and Church, the Monastery, the houses and their balconies, the restaurants and the vibrant life in the Calle Mayor.

Logrono on a Saturday was packed with party tourists, the bridge into the city center was closed, and police were monitoring the main bridges into the city. Crowds of people refused to even move off the streets to allow me to get to my hotel. Several pounded on the hood of my car, as if I was daring to intrude on their taking over the streets. The police had to escort me into the city to the hotel and even for them, the people did not get out of their way. I am sure there are charming areas to the city, but it is absolutely not a place to drive to and parking is in lots across the bridges, not exactly welcoming to those who wish to stay the night. Maybe take a bus tour - I certainly will not ever go back. I did not even go out to eat anything. As a solo traveler I am not intimidated by big cities, big crowds, etc,. But this is supposed to be a charming small town. Did Rick Steves do a show here? These were not English speaking tourists - mostly Spanish and French.

Staff were very helpful. Restaurant was ok. However too far from Los Arcos, even though free taxi back into town.
Also, rooms have paper thin walls. I could hear every bowel movement, TV, and cough from next door room.

Logron~o is an ideal base for exploring Rioja and its wines.
Logron~o is an ideal base for exploring Rioja and its wines. It also seems to be very popular with people doing the Camino de Santiago. It is a lively town, with an interesting old-town, as well as newer and very-new areas surrounding it. The municipal park along the River Ebro provides a surprisingly quiet ambience within minutes of the rest of the town. The main tourist area is around Calle del Laurel which has a great variety of tapas bars and wine bars - but almost every area has some area for wine and food. Just beware of meal times - it is hard to get anything other than small tapas between 2pm and 8pm as there seem to be no all-day restaurants like VIPS (no snotty comments please - no .
Taxis are a good option for nearby wineries but you have to queue or phone for one like in the 90s - apparently taxi apps aren't a thing yet. The strangest gap is public transport to Haro, which arguably has more bodegas than Logron~o but not much by way of hotels or evening restaurants. The first bus or train from Logron~o to Haro seems to arrive just as many of the wineries stop their tours around 2pm, and the last bus/train back from Haro seems to leave at 5pm, before anywhere opens for dinner. (I'd love to be corrected on this, in time for my next visit!)
