Oh, Ivalo River Camping! What can I say about this place? It was an incredible place to stay, and I can’t believe I witnessed the breathtaking northern lights there. It was a magical moment, and the view was simply stunning, right above the property. I had no regrets at all. The amenities were top-notch, and I loved the proximity of the bathrooms to the rooms. They were spotlessly clean, to the point where you couldn’t find a single trace of dirt or a corner that wasn’t gleaming.
I am so grateful for the exceptional staff at this establishment. They were incredibly professional and made my experience one of the best I’ve ever had.
They are always ready to assist me with taxi services or even help me book activities at a safari that they have access to.
As a side note, make sure to always have a lot of taxi numbers handy, just in case. Also, keep in mind that taxis don’t operate after 12 p.m., so ensure that you complete all your tasks before that time.
I highly recommend visiting the diner and trying their reindeer kebab and cheeseburger.

Once in a lifetime stay at a beautiful cabin/igloo. Had everything we needed including a comfortable bed and great shower. The best part is the atmosphere walking around the cabins. Worth paying for every activity you can, especially the sauna/jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious

Everything was perfect. The location is centrally located in ivalo walking distance to everything. All amenities that you might need are present right there. Supermarket is across the road. The host is very helpful too.

Good price/quality hotel. Rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Good location in Ivalo next to the river. Free use of equipment such as ski boots, xc skis, and ice skating shoes was a nice bonus. Activities can be booked at the hotel.

Great and cozy apartment. Small, but charming. Very clean. The hosts were nice and kind to provide all kinds of information and they were very responsive to my messages. I would definitely come back, as I appreciate kind hosts, when we all respect each other. Amenities were also quite good - filtered coffee machine, microwave, stove - you can have quite a nice stay and you won't miss a thing!

Ivalo itself was cute.
Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.

Best place to view Northern lights. Unique Husky ride , and snow mobile tours. Winter sports like skiing , cross country , snow walking.
Dreamy Winter Wonderland landscape ! Everything covered in snow is a picture perfect view .
Stay in a Glass Igloo cabin to view Northern lights ( weather permitted)
Renting a car is highly recommended , easy to get around even on an icy road . We used Alamo . Excellent car .
Book all your tours in advance to avoid disappointment .
Have fun and enjoy the cold . Be prepare to bring thermal clothing .
