The Dellwood was wonderfully hospitable and was great part of my stay in Campbeltown. Tracey and Bruce greeted me with some of the warmest hospitality I have ever received. They made me feel like I was staying at my favorite aunt and uncle’s home. The view over the town was incredible with clear sight lines of the sunrise over the harbor. Glen Scotia is literally a stones throw away and Springbank Distillery/Downtown Campbeltown is <8 minute walk. There is also a grocery store under a 5 minute walk nearby for last minute snacks/drinks/and supplies. Adjacent to the lobby there is an adorable bar and dining room. The entire property is uniquely decorated, clean, and very well maintained for such an older building. Great representation of the charm and magic that is Campbeltown!
My only regret is that I had an early bus and wasn’t able to stay for the full breakfast (It had my mouth WATERING as I passed by. Bruce was so kind and packed me a bacon sandwich while Tracey had stocked me up with snacks for the trip, so thoughtful!).

Great location, easy access to everything in town. Very polite and responsive hosts and the premises very clean and cozy - better than in the pictures. Definitely would come back again.

An excellent apartment. Clean, tidy and freshly decorated. Excellent communication with host. A spacious apartment that could cater for much larger groups than ours. Recommended.

Clean. Good beds and linen.
Clean. Good beds and linen. Comfortable seating in lounge area. Well equipped kitchen. Owners not on site (live next door to cottage) for almost three days. If we had had a problem I don’t know what we would have done. The owner says there is wifi but it’s temperamental. In our experience it does not have wifi. We tried everyday. The network we were given never appeared on our phones when requesting to join a wifi network. There is no phone signal either. You are completely off grid, which is fine, but it would have been useful to know in advance of our visit.

Campbeltown is an ideal location for touring the area and is very convenient for the Cowal Way The Springbank distillery and local golf. The town is generally quiet but still provides good places to eat and drink

We loved the easy access to our room with 3 dogs and a massive walk in shower gave us that extra space. We loved the clean towels and also how special you made it for our dogs, extra doggie towels and blankets and chewies for all 3 :)))
We loved tea and coffee, chocs and biscuits and shampoos etc
We loved the restaurant options and easy access for the dogs plus being able to sit outside and enjoy beachfront views or inside sea views - awesome!!
Extra special to take the dogs out for beach walks although sad about one of the Canadian geese, and too many dead seagulls on the shore but overall beautiful seaside adventure. We travelled down as far as Saddler and got to tour with best mate Jane.
Enjoy the peace, quiet, clean natural lifestyle while you can and it becomes another tourist overcrowded beach.

Southend which is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage is a very quiet sleepy village with one central store that has an amazing tearoom selling fantastic cakes.
For a busier place you would need to head up to Campbeltown which has a high street, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants and is 8 miles from the cottage.

An amazing set up.
An amazing set up. A good sized, well equipped, spotless en-suite room with a separate communal lounge/kitchen. Breakfast is in the welcoming cafe next door, run by the owners of the accommodation. There's also a gift shop and small garden centre. On an evening we were welcome to relax in the large conservatory/glasshouse. The staff were the best team we've come across this year. We wished we were staying longer.

Kintyre is absolutely gorgeous - so beautiful, unspoilt, rugged and wonderful. Campbeltown used to be a little run-down but it was looking pretty good with lots of independent shops, two distilleries and a busy yacht harbour. Campbeltown is a good base if you need buses and amenities and for shopping in supermarkets.

Bellochantuy is a really small village, you almost have to have a car if you want to venture around. It is conveniently placed to explore the Kintyre peninsula, but not for someone who is looking for pubs and exploring different restaurants every night.

There are some historic places to visit as well as a couple of lovely beaches to walk along or risk a paddle in the sea .
Local Seal population is healthy and like to sunbathe on rocks at Tourist Parking area.
You MUST try the Muneroy Tea Rooms on the village, their range of cakes is amazing as are the portions. The Tea Room itself is a step back in time to a more relaxed and peaceful time where you can sit and enjoy good food and company.
If you do fancy a bit of adventure and seeing a bit of the area off road then there is a local Horse Riding facility - Wilder Ways, they will happily arrange for you to get out in the local area on horseback for even better views of the countryside.

This is a lovely little gem, with a little walk (5 minute) up the hill there are some amazing views to take in. The room and directions were spot on, we met some lovely people (other guests) there too, it's a short drive into Campbeltown where we were attending for my dads funeral. I would highly recommend this place for you to stay, I will book again when I come back to see my dad again.
