When we arrived I had to search for someone to check us in. We had a good enough room for the family. However, the facilities were very dated. The remote control didn't work for one TV, the double bed mattress had springs and I could feel every spring when sleeping. Terrible nights sleep which was made worse by the sound of loud party music downstairs until the early hours of the morning
Bedrooms were very comfortable , the food was excellent and a good selection of beers in the bar . For 5 lads staying for a one night stop over on the way for a fishing trip to Ireland it was perfect , already looking forward to re-booking for next year .
Now where do I start from, the room - by the looks of it seems like it was last refurbished 15 years ago. Poor standards all around, The wall paper looked from the 1970s, 2 windows in the room with roller blinds and curtains, we could draw the curtains but the roller blind on one of the window sealed shut. The other window opened towards the road, if you open the window it was noisy due to traffic, if you don't open room could get quite warm. The double bed was ok but the single bed was beyond uncomfortable could feel the springs poking into my back. Wardrobe was namesake no place to keep your luggage. Next to the coffee/ tea tray everything seemed cheap, had to go and buy my own coffee. The kettle again very cheap seemed like the one that they sell at supermarket the value range for £5. Now let's move on to the bathroom, shaving light doesn't work, toilet seat not fixed properly and the panels used on the walls are starting to peel off. The staff some really good but others can't be bothered. The food in the pub downstairs cold and tasteless. The fish had no taste whatsoever ever, the burger was poor quality in cold bun and the chips were so cold that my 4 year old could eat it right away but stopped eating after 2 bites as they had no taste. Food not worth the price, the chef can't be bothered. I could write more but I am tired of writing as there is so much more. Overall stay, probably the worst holiday experience. Overpriced and overrated establishment. Not worth a visit.
Valley is a small quaint place, I don't normally go out my way to visit;I normally just pass through, but as it was my brother's wedding in the area I was given the opportunity to experience it first-hand. The area has the necessary amenities for a short stay, however,a car is required to go further afield. Nice little place, also nice to see Welsh speakers.
Such a peaceful place, amazing facilities and breakfast was fit for a king. Such tentative hosts, yet you are given the privacy as well whilst staying at their property. Prosecco on arrival was a lovely extra!
It’s a lovely pub/hotel with nice food. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both good. We had a nice room with a connecting room with bunk beds for the kids which was great. Fab location for the ferry crossing.
