Very calm and authentic place. Breakfasts are really good with nice view on Etna . We took both cooking classes and wine and food degustation. And both experiences were amazing. During cooking classes, chef showed us how to cook local dishes, and it was not hard at all.
Degustation Dinner with the wine was amazing! Tiramisu with orange was best I tried! Definitely worth to try!
I’m not very good expert in wine but it was good too.
I would like to thank a lot for Isabelle who helped us to get more familiar with the Sicily , gave us a lot of suggestions what to do and where to go and all of them were very useful.

Very nice historical hotel, with solitude and quiet country atmosphere. However, there is a little background noise from traffic and planes. Staff were all awesome. The hotel restaurant was great and very affordable. Bed was very comfortable, but the other room furnishings were very worn; maybe they're supposed to be that way.

Lovely family run hotel, conveniently located traveling to Catania or just before your flight.
The family apartment was very spacious, with a living room, two bedrooms, balcony, kitchen nicely tucked away behind foldable doors when you do not use it.
We stayed one night before our flight home, and had dinner in the local restaurant that was recommended by the front desk lady, who was very kind and accommodating.
Breakfast was a lovely continental selection with freshly baked croissants.
I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone visiting Catania.

Its a nice calm area close to Catania.
Its a nice calm area close to Catania. Its much cleaner than other towns or Catania itself. Usually the garbage is lying around everywhere next to the roads, highways etc. but in Misterbianco it seemed a bit better.
When you drive towards Misterbianco you would think that it will be as trashy as the surrounding areas but thank god no. There are couple of pizzerias and bars at a very affordable price.

The property is surrounded by nature, we enjoyed the peace and quiet, the pool area, a bird's eye view of Etna straight in front of our room, and lovely, kind staff and owner, who by the way is a wonderful cook.

Catania is busy, a bit dirty, loud and fun. I really liked it. Good restaurants, amazing Opera House, nice architecture. Would I go there again after staying for a week? Probably not for a week, but would be nice to visit Catania again.

We were just there for one night, and we enjoyed ourselves. Things close down on Sundays, so we were unable to go into the palace. We did find restaurants that opened later, after Sunday masses. There are many beautiful cathedrals in Paterno.

Militello in val di Catania was just named one of three most beautiful villages in all of Italy. Yes, they pick different ones every year, but there are 8,000 comunes in Italy. This is the place to go if you are tired of the crowds in the towns by the sea. It is an authentic Sicilian village with similar Baroque churches to the ones the crowds flock to in Noto. Not a strong tourist infrastructure, but several pizzerias, lots of bakeries and bars. Very vibrant village. It is worth a visit to the cemetery with it many stunning resting places. Short drive to a wonderful waterfall.

The only point of attention: at the weekend the small street is crowded with Italian families with their cars. So, either you stay on the beach and leave your car in the 'reserved place' (C.C. sign) (as soon you leave, it will be taken by another car, evidently), or you leave and come back after ours (dinner time for Italian families).

Beautiful Sicilian town experience.
Beautiful Sicilian town experience. Views of Mount Etna and the lowlands are great from the city. The classic churches are not to be missed. The parking situation on the street is scary and the roads need improvement. Not a place to have an SUV.

Amazingly helpful and responsive host. Lovely house.
Could do with air con (though there were fans) and wouldn't advise others go at the hight of summer in a heatwave as it was boiling, but such a lovely special simple rustic house, and a great pool. Very quiet and pleasant. Local town is nothing special but if you want somewhere to switch off this is a great location with a view of Etna.

There is a direct flight from Bucharest to Catania, which is very convenient. From Catania we could visit very beautiful cities such as Taormina and Siracuse, which worth a lot. If you are lucky you can enjoy a trip at Etna. We also spent a day to Etna (Sapienta), but was very windy day. However, it was interesting and we were happy for being there.
