I have stayed at Mara River Camp before and I will continue to stay there every time I come to the Mara. The location is fabulous, so many animals right in the camp, and right on the River Mara. The food is amazing and the staff is amazing. The rooms are great too.

Everything was amazing! I cannot recommend this place enough. The food, the people, the service, the experience. It was well worth the price. They truly cater to all of your needs. I will revisit this review and update with more details but in short, a hidden gem!

So special place in nice location on the Talek river, many animals around , hippos and crocodiles monkeys and more. The rooms are very clean and have all the facilities you will need. The food is superb. And the staff are very friendly and always happy to help on all what needs. It’s not my first time in Mara but it’s the best place I have ever stay in Mara.

The property is great! Amenities. Staff. Very well accomplished! The games drives…. Ufff exceptional.

Love this camp. Right in the heart of Mara reserve. View of river is lovely. Not all rooms have view but lodge view is top. Hippos and crocodiles in river. Great sounds at night. Lovely location for exploring Mara. Staff was amazing. Great food and so nice. Hope I return one day

The staff made me feel like home. I travelled alone but Ann, Diana , Sylvia were so friendly with me, I did not feel lonely at all. I made friends instead. Levis exactly knew where to find all the wild animals.

Jambo, Hands down the trip of a life time! At the heart of the trip is the amazing Fig Tree Camp. The camp is surrounded by wildlife. Hippos and baboons can be seen from the safety of your riverside tent. Make sure to bring a set of ear plugs as the hippos are extremely loud during twilight hours. Hyena can also be heard at night time with their signature ‘whoo up’ sounds. The camp is situated on the Talek River which makes it situated in the heart of the habitat of local wildlife. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food is amazing and the pool is handy in between game drives. The bar area is a fantastic place to talk to other visitors about your experiences while enjoying coffee or a bottle of Tusker or Two, be sure to try a cocktail made by the Maasai Maras number one mixologist Gideon and his assistants. Where to start with the game drives. This has to be hands down the most enjoyable experience I have ever had. A four day game drive gave me the opportunity to see the ‘Big Five’ and everything else the Maasai Mara had to offer. The highlight of the trip has to be watching a large male Lion steal a kill from a clan of Hyena at sunrise. I was also fortunate enough to see three week old Lion cubs and four separate Leopards. A lioness was also chased into the bush by a herd of elephants and unbeknown, a Black Rhino came hurtling out of the bush. My guide and guardian Johnathan was on point everyday and knew where to find the local wildlife. I also had the opportunity to visit a Maasai Village and experience the culture of the legendary Maasai Warriors.
