Benito Juarez Airport (MEX) Information

Location and Transport

More than 100,000 passengers pass through Mexico City International Airport – officially known as Benito Juárez Airport – every day, destined for any one of 100 destinations across three continents. It’s located just 3 miles (5 kilometres) from downtown Mexico City, meaning there’s plenty of time for sightseeing if you have a scheduled layover. For getting in and out, numerous Metrobus lines offer round-the-clock transportation to the city centre and other nearby cities. There’s also the Metro as a cheaper alternative, shuttling travellers to and from Terminal Aérea Station along Line 5.

Thanks to its central location, there are plenty of hotels near Mexico City Airport to cater to stranded passengers or anyone with a short layover. In terms of airport facilities, there are duty free shops, restaurants, cafés and bars in all terminals. There’s also a hospital, several banks and currency exchange kiosks. The traffic was unusually slow because of the weather, it rained ever day we were there so that was disappointing. The city centre was very clean and the food was excellent in all the restaurants we visited.

Great architecture. Safe environment.

Great architecture. Safe environment. Interesting galleries, museums and public buildings. Good value. Easy city to walk around and also cheap and efficient public transport which was easy to use, especially the metro system. Clean streets. Central historical centre of the city is amazing.

Many interesting things to see.

Many interesting things to see. ONLY take tours advertised as No Extra Commercial Stops. They waste huge amounts of time parking in front of their buddies gift stores and restaurants. And do not allow time for the main attractions. Give the Kahlo museum a pass; very crowded and no time for contemplation. The museum National Antropológica one of the finest I have ever visited. Great views from Chaputepec and do not miss Museum Caracol a diorama history of mexico.. Love this place learn to say no politely to street vendors "possible mas tarde" maybe a little later, works just great. Uber and Didi inexpensive and reliable. Go,have fun,enjoy the welcoming place that is Mexico. And for the truly adventurous a Metro green line to Constitution 1917 and a very short walk to Line 2 Cable Car. Beautiful foto ops colorful houses and rooftop murals.
