Spacious Studio, incredible rooftop with sea view is located in Playa del Carmen, just a 5-minute walk from ADO International Bus Station and 600 yards from Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. We absolutely loved our time here! Remo was the perfect host—welcoming, helpful, and always available. He greeted us upon arrival and even guided us to our parking spot in the secure garage, which is a great feature of the apartment. The building itself is new, well-maintained, and cleaned multiple times a day. The apartment was spacious, modern, and equipped with all the appliances we needed. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and well-organized. The balcony was a great addition, especially with the provided drying rack for clothes. Although room cleaning was available at an extra cost, we didn’t feel the need for it. Remo went above and beyond by providing us with excellent recommendations for dining, beaches, and sightseeing, as well as practical tips like where to do laundry. The free purified water was a nice touch. One of the highlights was the rooftop—it features a beautiful pool, a great lounging area, and the perfect spot to enjoy a drink and relax. The location was ideal for us: within walking distance to several beaches, great restaurants, and 5th Avenue. It was close enough to all the action but far enough away for peaceful, quiet nights. The apartment is also well soundproofed, so we slept wonderfully. Another pleasant surprise was the shower—hot water was almost instant, which is rare in Mexico. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again if we return to the area!

The main Playa del Carmen beaches ( Mamitas Beach, Pelicanos Beach and the one next to the Ferries are very very narrow as the sea is rapidly eroding them; thus there is very little space to sit and wherever you are, you will have locals playing loud music on their portable music players. A really beautiful wide beach with a jungle backdrop is the Coco beach which is about 2 miles long and easily accessible. The other very good beach is Playacar beach which is also long and wide but has hotels between the palms, the whole way along.
It's a tourist trap. Everyone is trying to sell you something, even young children (it's non-stop haggling). The beach is brown and smelly from the enormous amount of seaweed. Cancun or Riveria Maya are much better choices.
Not a place to stay more than 2 nights in my opinion Lots of stalls selling tours. Though beach free to access north of the ferry terminal. There is only a narrow strip of sand in many areas due to beach resort hotels roping it off. Lots of restaurants, in the evening a few bars are so loud it makes the area unpleasant ( unless you like noise). Beaches are cleared of seaweed every morning Head south to Tulum or North to Poerto Morelos for better experience
My trip was all work related for 5-days. the hotel excelled as a base. The town/city of Playa del Carmen as I was taken to my various appointments, would not be my choice for a holiday - too noisy for me, but would be good for others.
Beaches aren't great, to be honest. They look cool from the outside. The main beaches are full (1-10 December). The one by the resort had some big rocks and wasn't very good for kids. The water looks very nice, though.
Playa del Carmen is lively and full of energy, but the city beach can get crowded, and some areas aren’t always clean due to dogs and their activities. I would suggest staying in Playacar or nearby for a cleaner, more private beach while still being close to the city.
