We had an incredible stay - the hosts were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The views were absolutely stunning, with peaceful surroundings that offered the perfect place to relax. The location was ideal: a quiet area close to Hobbiton and just a short drive close to town and other amenities/experiences. Must try the tomahawk steak dinner! Overall it makes you feel like it’s a visit to mom and dad’s!

Streamside Country manner lived up to our expectations and beyond. It is like stepping into a house in Hobbiton. It is filled with quirky, artistic touches. Caren met us even though we were very late and gave us a warm welcome. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable in a lovely large room.

House was large, well appointed and very quiet. The bed was firm and the most comfortable I had slept on during our trip. Location is convenient to town, with a car, and to Hobbiton. We enjoyed our one night's stay here.

Matamata Central Motel is a 20-minute drive from the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours, where parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were being filmed.
