El Zafiro Boutique Hotel is located in Beacon Hill in St. Maarten. All unites are air conditioned and have a flat-screen TV and an iPhone for local and long distance calling. The property and the staff were great. The owner was really nice and accommodating too. The property is on its own secluded beach, which is open to the public but doesn’t get too crowded. If you walk 10 minutes down the beach there are bars. It’s super close to Maho beach and the airport.

There is a bar located just outside the barrier it has a well stock bar and it's a nice hang out around sunset, there is also a Thai restaurant a couple of miles heading into town called Avantika food was excellent.plenty of other bars and night club in that area that provides good entertainment. You can walk around mahogany reef pretty easy.
It was a lovely experience from the moment we entered the hotel. However there wasn't any non-alcoholic drinks to celebrate our anniversary. My favorite spot was the pool and I mostly ate at the Ocean point restaurant.
• Pros: • Nice Hotel especially if you love watching planes land & take off from the beach. • The Hotel staff was very friendly & attentive. • Nice Veranda over the ocean for great view. • Nice reciprocal with Sonesta Great Point - if you decide to go to Phillipsburg you can stop at Sonesta Great Bay for lunch as part of the all inclusive package. • Cons: • Internet could be a little better - Be warned room 836 did not get signal when we were there but we eventually switched to another room. • One thing I would suggest to the hotel. Please provide ice cream! • The Hotel is all-inclusive and also offers Pizza all day. • But the one thing it was missing Especially since it is located in a warm climate on the beach and caters to kids is Ice cream! The only way to get Ice cream is to go to the Grill or the Pointe restaurant and get it as desserts. It would have been lovely if they had a place to get ice cream any time!
The area is pleasant once you get used to planes taking off from and landing at SXM. They don't stop until after 9 pm. Local shops have high end items and low end accessories plus souvenirs. Restaurants and bars populate the street as well. All within walking distance from Sonesta properties and more.
Staff was lovely considering the guests they had to deal with. Perhaps this is typical of an all inclusive, but there were too many excessive drinkers at the pool, acting foolishly, creating a nuisance. The beach was very crowded with chairs placed less than a foot apart from the next guest. Food was unremarkable. We stayed overnight and needed something close to the airport. I am not sure why this hotel was recommended to us.
We spent one night at this hotel after we arrived late at night, and we were on our way to St Barts the next morning. Our ferry was canceled and the hotel was not willing to offer a 1/2 day rate or a complimentary late check outOn the other hand I was very impressed with the room and general facilities. It was better that any expectations for a stop over.I would stay again ,if it was in a different island.St Marteen is not the best place in the Caribean
