Beautiful beaches and close to the Redwoods.
Beautiful beaches and close to the Redwoods. Arcada has a very cute town square with some very nice restaurants like Brio's Bakery. They have great pasteries, and wonderful a breakfast and lunch menu.

This is a quaint little spot; the view of the bay was spectacular. We ate at The Eatery and were happy with our meal. Parking was a bit tough, but we found a spot near the restaurant. I would definitely like to visit again.

Majority of the people were very nice.
Majority of the people were very nice. I had a great time at the festival. It's somewhat of a small town country atmosphere, simple and not overcrowded. Loved that and the view...the giant redwoods...magnificent. I'm not a beer drinker, don't really like the taste but one of the vendors gave me a glass of beer for free. Don't remember what kind it was...It was good!

We were only there one night, as we were on a road trip to Portland and needed to keep moving. We loved the historic downtown and could have spent more time there. There are many little shops, bookstores, coffee shops to enjoy. We had been to Eureka last year and found a great restaurant that we returned to (Brick and Fire Bistro). I'm sure there are others as well.

Nice little NorCal town with lots of places to eat (except perhaps on a Sunday evening). Close to several locations like Arcata, Eureka and Trinidad. Has all the required places like supermarkets, medical facilities, drug stores and fuel stations.

Small quaint little town.
Small quaint little town. We visited their library, museum which had the history of the town, and Murphy’s market & deli for food supplies. Headies Pizza and Pour restaurant had the best pizza. We visited the beach & lighthouse too.

Good price. It was clean and comfortable. Some of the appliances in the room needed some work. The exhaust fan, TV, ect did not work correctly, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We would stay here again.

We were deciding between staying in Eureka or Crescent City,...
We were deciding between staying in Eureka or Crescent City, and I’m very glad we ultimately chose Eureka. The location was ideal for exploring both the southern redwoods, such as the Avenue of the Giants and scenic drives through the forests to the coast, as well as the northern redwoods, including Redwood National and State Parks.
We did visit Crescent City during our trip and found it to be much quieter, but overall, we were happy to return to Eureka as our home base. Eureka offers a wider variety of restaurants, hotel options, and amenities, including multiple Starbucks locations, which made our stay more convenient and enjoyable.

McKinleyville was not our original choice and it proved satisfactory but not exciting. We used it as a center for walks in the hills, beaches bird sanctuaries etc.It wqs basically a reasonable place to stay for a few days.

Trinidad is in a beautiful location on the ocean and in the redwoods. We like to go in the summer to escape the heat and be out in nature.
It is also home to the amazing Larrupin Cafe. This is a beautiful restaurant in a very unexpected location.
Arcata is only about 15 minutes away and is a funky little college town with good restaurants, brew pubs and a farmers market on Saturdays with outstanding organic and home grown produce.
