Coast Inn at Lake Hood, is a short walk away to watch float planes take on and off from one of the busiest seaplane bases in the world. The room size was very large and very comfortable. The bed was really comfortable. Watching the planes land and take off was fun.

Like most places, the hotel was short staffed. However the staff were amazing under very trying circumstances of being over booked by third parties, and having the Iditarod based there. Nice building & facilities, but the staff made this outstanding - they even loaned me a pair of bolt cutters to cut ther broken TSA padlock off my suitcase.
