The food was excellent! The customer service was great. The accommodations were cool. I enjoyed the history of the location and hotel.

WANTED to see the railroad museum but it was CLOSED(!!!)
WANTED to see the railroad museum but it was CLOSED(!!!) WITH NO MESSAGE ABOUT THIS ON THEIR WEB SITE. We walked quite a ways to get to the museum, found the NEW location, which was not yet open, and a sign directing us to the OLD location, about a 1/4 mile further up the road. Got to the OLD location and it was CLOSED, due to the planned move to the NEW location, set to take place in SEPTEMBER (we visited end of June). Big disappointment. A few restaurants closed Sun/Mon, so we missed out on two we wanted to try. Area built up with lots of hotels, but not many travelers/tourists, as far as we could see. 'Coffee Cup Cafe', 'Southwest Diner' and Boulder Dam Hotel restaurant all great places to eat.

Boulder City is such a great spot outside of the hustle and glitz of Vegas. It has a neighborly feel, yet caters to the traveling set. Our family really enjoyed the parks, the walk-ability, and the accessibility of everything in town. The public art and historic vibe of the city was great to see and experience as well!

Boulder City has put a lot of effort into maintaining a "small town" aesthetic with plenty of modern touches. There is an amazing public arts program with murals and sculptures scattered throughout the town. You can walk the boundaries of the Historic District easily. There are plenty of eateries in all different price points. The Xeric Garden at the Bureau of Reclamation property is a hidden gem. There is very easy access to the River Mountains Loop Multi-Use Recreational Trail with access to Lake Mead, Boulder Dam and Lake Las Vegas.
