The location is very near interest places, CVS, McDonald's, and the Airport.
But it is the free airport shuttle that I liked most!
Also I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the Shuttle Driver and Receptionist (sorry I didnt get their names) because I left my handbag on the shuttle when I was dropped off the airport and all my IDs were there including my passport! (How reckless of me! I was so embarrased)
Since I am just visiting relatives, I didn't bother to get a local number so I had to ask my sister call the hotel and the receptionist was very quick to act in locating my bag and informing the driver.
The driver was a very very nice man who helped me carry my 2 big heavy luggages and returned back to the airport to hand me my bag. He did all these with a smile which was very comforting 😭
I really appreciate it! you have no idea how scared and helpless I was considering I was just alone and it was very cold. But your kindness really warmed my heart.

We lived here for many years, so are fully aware of Alexandria’s many assets: shopping, history, nearness to D.C. and Mt Vernon. The Del Ray neighborhood nearby offers great restaurants (Del Ray Cafe!!!) and is not far. Location on the Potomac offers beautiful views and even boat transportation to the city in some instances.

The zoo, monuments and museum are great.
The zoo, monuments and museum are great. Though you have to walk a lot to visit them. There are various museums; choose only those which you are really interested in. It is impossible to see all. The zoo is also great, but there is a lot of uphill walking while returning, and so 40 mins is required to walk back to the entry-exit point. Monuments are all very good; walk around the lake and take a break on the way. There are park benches, toilets and drinking water all around to take breaks. The only catch is please do not carry plastic bottles; most places do not allow plastic bottles, only metal bottles are allowed. Food is allowed in the zoo only.

I flew in and out of the Reagan airport, went to visit the Udvarhazy Air-space museum by the Dallas airport. It was just great and amazing what I coud see.
I drove on the hwy 50, you need more signs on the road so outsiders know where we are.

Firstly if your renting the whole house they do not have it anywhere online or do they inform you one that there is a basement and two that someone is living there. I was informed by the owner after arriving and being in the shower she entered the house without informing me. I then was asked house many people were going to be in the house because it seemed like a get together because there was four of us in total one person being my uncle who is in a wheel chair who I took with me to pick up the keys because I was press for time. She then asked was anyone else coming I told her yes there is a small gathering for my company that would probably have no more than 10 people. We decided to not play the music because she said that there was a noise cut off time because of the person living in the basement. At around 12 we had a guy in a robe who was first seen with a cup in his hand sleep in his car in the driveway.. once approached he woke up and seemed drunk or under the influence I told him who we were and that I was going to call the police because he was too under the influence to explain why he was there. He later returned in a robe banging on the door threatening to call the police..

The proximity of the hotel to Alexandria was great! Alexandria has so much to offer. We visited the river front and strolled the streets. We had a great lunch at Union Street Public House. We paid $20 for all day parking which seemed outrageous at first, but we knew our car was safe in the lot and it was centrally located.

This time of year, you really need to spend most of your time indoors, if you're older. But I wanted to visit gardens. The Hillwood Estate was really lovely, the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens were fascinating and all the garden areas around the Smithsonian Castle had lovely spots to sit and read. My favorite space was the area surrounding the National Museum of the American Indian. The water works, plants and curving lines of the architecture are soothing to the soul. I recommend the Chef's Choice dinner at Nina May, and if you care about coffee, a visit to the Black Crown Collective in the Cannon House Office Building. I wish I had started using the Veo shared seated scooter earlier in my stay, as they were really helpful!
