staff were helpful _ I booked through Booking .Com on the way there and found out when I arrived that I had booked (or Booking .com made an error) a week in advance. The desk person was very helpful (but we were both helpless) to try and get the date changed. Don't use Booking .Dot Com! You end up paying for both dates if you make an error!
Anyway we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities for the hotel and the price was very reasonable. (Booking.com's rate was honored).
The room was very comfortable, bed was fine. Breakfast was fine too.

The Booking.com info on the hot Breakfast offered is completely misleading, almost none of the things mentioned on your website are available. Please update your website so other travellers are not mislead.
To be clear, there were NO eggs, No muffins, No toast, No bagels, No fresh fruit, No yoghurt, No hot Oatmeal
It was a most dissatisfying and disappointing breakfast!

I live in Florida now, however, I grew up in the Woodhaven/Trenton area. I go back to see family. I like to stay in a hotel to have some space. Woodhaven is safe, lots of shopping, dining and close to the water and nice parks.

I watched as they built the Allen Park Motor lodge, swan in the pool (no longer exists) and have stayed there many times. It is my home away from home. When I am in the Downriver area I stay there and would not stay anywhere else. It's like coming home.

. Evil scary dog upon checking. Should have been harnessed. Stood there to check in at length with this big growling dog without a harness stared at me as I imagined I would be attacked.menacing. They should have accommodated me for my safety and fear while this stupid owner looked as though he could not control aggressive dog. I’ve never been so frightened by a dog. I am a dog person. I finally sat in the eating area with the lights out for comfort until I could check in .Guests should not be subjected by possible danger when staying at la Quinta. The guest with the dog should have been counseled that this is unacceptable for any guests and the danger eliminated. Not handled well at all.

This place was awful.
This place was awful. A guy was passed out/Od'd in a car parked next to mine. It was very dirty. The room was so small we could barely move around each other. The bathroom was dirty and the size of a closet. The pool was dirty. A man with open sores on his legs got into the hot tub so we didn't even get to swim or enjoy the pool area. I checked in at 4pm and checked out at 7pm. Didn't even ask for my money back. Just wanted to get my kids out of this place. The key cards didn't even work. You could just open every door without a key card.

The staff was awful.
The staff was awful. It took me 30 mins to check in and I gave the man a physical credit card to pay for my room however they charged a different credit card because "they automatically charge the card you have on file at 6pm, all hotels do this according to the woman I spoke to" and added a $3 airport fee that was not explained at the time of check in. Simply letting me know what was going on could have made this a completely different review. but I realize customer service is a lost art. Simply refunding my card and charging the correct card could have cleared this completely up. Even if you are just a budget hotel being hospitable cost nothing and goes a long way. Take some pride in what you do.
