My son and I were there attending the Anime Fiesta held at the McAllen Convention Center. The hotel was a short drive there and we could not have asked for a better hotel to stay at. Casa De Palmas is beautiful and the employees are awesome While at the hotel I had the Street Tacos and a Rib eye Steak. Both were delicious.

We rented a week stay due to Beryl hurricane, by Wednesday we checked out due repairs with no water in room, we bought 2 gallons of water to flush toilet, fire alarms ringing 2 days in a row, & technicians walking in room to repair items, My 87 year old mom & 2 other seniors were uncomfortable with all all these areas, we checked out Wednesday night. South wood suites staff commented that (150.12) would be partial reimbursed to our credit card for the inconvenience. I received the invoice/statement with the ($150.12), but have not seen the reinstatement on my card. Staff & employees: Suzi, RJ & Dee at site. Thank you

The hotel is centered in between a flagship HEB across the street, Home Depot just behind, a Chase bank to one side, a Wal-Mart across the highway easy to get to several restaurants just acroas the street, Papa John's deliverys. The experience was great!

Location was good like I had mentioned. When I arrived checked in this was easy. Went to my room it was warm so cranked down ac went to dinner came back temperature was about same. It’s been hot so I let is be. Bathroom had a towel no wash cloth about a 1/4 of toilet paper. Shower had no pressure no hot water. Could not unlock tv it was on internet called front desk gave it 30 minutes no one showed went to front desk I was told the girl who can fix that had left for the day. It took some time but some other girl showed up with a different remote control and unlocked it. Other than than that I spent time with my family and had some great food. When I go back I’m picking a different hotel.

Didn't really see McAllen other to go where I had to pick up some items, which was the purpose of the trip. From the freeway to the motel, sleep; then to pick up my items, return to motel and pick up my wife and leave the city to return home.

My purpose was to help my nephew move out of his student...
My purpose was to help my nephew move out of his student apartment. I was pleasantly surprised by the attractiveness of many parts of Edinburg, which is largely suburban. The University of Texas has an attractive campus and additional schools around town.
With limited public transportation a car is absolutely necessary to cover this widespread city.
During the summer break at UT, traffic was very easy.

They stole a $3000 lenovo laptop...
They stole a $3000 lenovo laptop...No one answers the phone...a woman called me to say my tv was too loud...turned it down...walked to front desk...no one there...waited...walked back to the room...minutes later, the police show up to escort me out of the room...because of my political views I was playing on tv...my Lenovo laptop was under the covers and they deny the theft and keep having up on me....submitted a police report.
