Staff was very nice, and the rooms were adequate. A little on the small side but we really only needed beds to sleep in for the night as we were only stopping in Monterey for one night and then heading south. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, working ice maker, and a great sushi spot two blocks away.

Overall, our stay was okay.

Overall, our stay was okay. The house was clean and in a great location, which made it convenient for exploring Monterey. It was also one of the more affordable options in the area, which we appreciated. However, comfort was lacking. The beds and linens were not comfortable, and the pillows were extremely flat and old—we had to message the hosts to request replacements. The couch was also very well-used and had an unpleasant smell. We also heard consistent scratching noises at night in the back bedroom and under the bathtub, which made us suspect there may be an animal living underneath the house. The backyard fence appears to be unstable and close to falling over, and the play structure was much more worn and used than what was shown in the listing photos. While the price and location were positives, the overall comfort and condition of the property especially the beds—could use improvement.

The location was great for us.

The location was great for us. It was close to the veterans cemetary, The Bayonet Blackhorse golf course, and the attractions in Monterey. The beach, a park, shopping, etc. were all in easy walking distance. The house has nice gathering areas in the front room and back patio. The Bayview Grill ant the Bayonet Black Horse golf course has excellent food. My son golfed and was impressed with the course and the incredible views. It is no more than 10-20 minutes to just about any place we wanted to go, including the Aquarium and Cannery Row.

I liked the proximity to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-the-Sea and the main attractions. The only downside was the particular location of the apartment in an industrial area, which was not apparent from the online external photos of the property. Sand City itself was a good location, less than ten minutes to the Monterey Airport, Fisherman's Wharf area, etc. It is also close to Pacific Grove and Seaside which offer a variety of attractions and eating locations. The weather was absolutely perfect.

Lots to do. We walked on the beach and the beach path. We saw Many bikers and joggers and dog walkers. Loved the restaurants. The Fish Wife for dinner and Winston’s for breakfast and lunch. We also loved Sandbar and Grill In Monterey. My sister loved all the shopping. I loved the 17 mile drive. Beautiful place for two old sisters getting together.

If you go to Carmel the Comfort Inn is such a nice cottage style hotel. We really enjoyed the staff, room and food. Parking is a bit tight but made it work. The beach and downtown Carmel is super close. Super fun vacation with my wife celebrating our 20th Anniversary.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel. Outside and property was well maintained, clean and landscaped. Room was well appointed and for the most part really clean. I very much appreciate a laminate floor vs. carpet that you know is never clean. Had a a nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine. Area has grocery stores and restaurants in the area that you can walk to. (Just avoid the Mexican place across the street, unless you want some stomach upset! Trust me you'll thank me!) Again, was everything you needed and will book again for my Concours stay next year! Thank you!

We know this area very well.

We know this area very well. There is so much to explore within minutes! Take the time to see Point Lobos, it is spectacular! The Aquarium is a must, along with Cannery Row. Fisherman's Wharf is fun and the beach is right there. There is so much to enjoy! Plan before you go so you don't miss out on what you want to see!

Nice, quiet streets near our B&B (Pine & Forest) and several restaurants within walking distance (Peppers, Red House). Lots of "painted lady" houses that are well maintained and interesting to see.

Carmel by the Sea was exactly what we were looking for- walkable, friendly, lots to see and do! Some of the streets can be steep but we walked everywhere or used Uber for some further trips (point Lobos & the Mission) and public transportation (bus) to Monterey! Carmel got busier on the weekend but overall was fairly quiet especially early mornings and at night. In late April, the temp never got above 63 degrees F, but we enjoyed walking along the beach. The town has lots of beautiful flowers, fairytale cottages, art galleries, and hidden passageways!
