Montrose is a nice little town.
Montrose is a nice little town. We enjoyed taco Tuesday at one of the golf course restaurants. It has a cute historic district and an old timey drive in theater. It also has all the shopping conveniences needed.

I grew up in Montrose and, without reservation, recommend everyone spend time there. The town itself is beautiful and loaded with wonderful amenities, great restaurants, and community activities. It is located within 15 miles of the Black Canyon National Park, 20 minutes from Ridgway, where a few well known movies were filmed, 35 minutes from the town of Ouray (the little Switzerland of America) with a huge city park and hot springs pool, and Box Canyon where visitors can feel the moisture of the breathtaking falls. Blue Mesa Reservoir is likely the largest and most spectacular body of water in Colorado, ideal for camping and fishing and surrounded by magnificent mountain country. Popular for everyone and playground of so many of the rich and famous, the mining town of Telluride is amazing all year around with great skiing in the winter.

Montrose is easy to get around, had an antique car show one evening and recommended Pomona Brewing Company if looking for a casual burger or chicken dinner. Their brewery flights were reasonably priced and servers good at finding out preferences.
