Colorado

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains are its signature, a playground of alpine peaks, wildflower meadows and world-class ski resorts. Known for outdoor adventure, craft beer and dramatic national parks, the state serves up active family holidays and solo escapes filled with hiking, skiing and laid-back mountain-town charm.

See Rocky Mountain National Park and Mesa Verde’s cliff dwellings. Hike or drive Trail Ridge Road, or try a family lake walk. Stay in Denver for flights and culture, Estes Park for RMNP access and Durango for Mesa Verde, scenic railways, southwest charm and hot springs.

Property lives off reputation of the Shining and ghost stories, whilst it is a beautiful building, there is a lot of ongoing work which will remove some of the history which is a shame, at £300 for one night, I feel the hotel is overpriced, but it was a must see on our trip, due to the connection for the Shining, this being an all time favourite, the Shining tour guide we had was fantastic and made the whole experience great!! If I returned to the area it would not be top of my list of places to stay!!

I would live here if I could.
Denver

I would live here if I could. The weather was exceptional, the locals are kind, and the things to do are endless. We explored many bars and restaurants and made the most of our trip. Love that within a two hour drive you can see/do so much as well. Such as Idaho springs, Golden, green of the gods, etc.

Estes Park

Love it. Beautiful place. Has become very touristy since here last. But i like that. Lots of shopping. Close to Rocky Mountain NP. Maybe little pricier than some areas. Lots of outdoor activity near. Parking in town tough but they offer free shuttles .May see elk roaming around area.

Love the city and region! There's so much to do and traffic is a breeze compared to where we're from. We loved Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, the Western Museum, Air Force Academy Visitor Center, etc.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood is always a great escape. There’s plenty to do and see, something for everyone. One of the most beautiful places in the country. A little short on restaurants. The only downside is the downtown traffic. But that is minor compared to everything else.

Durango is hands down the best city in Colorado.
Durango

Durango is hands down the best city in Colorado. Beautiful, charming, artsy. It has history and a unique character, and isn't overrun with people in athletic leisurewear trying to look rich. And it's got a Single-Gage Railroad, which is the BEST way to see the Rockies. We visit as often as we can (from NY).

Boulder

Beautiful town and always just as bit eclectic, as it should be. DIning at Frasca has no comparison in the broader Denver Metro area. But also good to see that along Pearl SDtreet there are still sweet little local spots with economic choices.

We liked our very first trip to Vail 4 years ago.
Vail

We liked our very first trip to Vail 4 years ago. We normally goto Breck but we were just just reminded of how everything is overpriced. The food, restaurants... If you're planning to have homecooked meals, there are nearby markets to shop which is what we did. We just didn't feel it was worth the amount of $ to be spent on food everynight. We'll be going to Breck from now on and if we really want to return it's because of the back bowl powder skiing.

We love Breckenridge. The town is great and the mountains are beautiful. The less than normal snow fall this year has really affected the slopes but overall they did a pretty good job of overcoming it.

Denver

The ease of paying for and taking the trains and busses was good. The art museum was a waste of money and time. The botanical gardens were wonderful and spending the morning hours there was the highlight of my day. Food at restaurants was good. The heat of summer and the haze from the wildfires made the trip difficult. Best not to go in the height of summer. The Dustang bus travel was great! Really helped me to get from the countryside to Denver relatively easily (price was great)! The airport was crowed and confusing with all the renovations going on.
