During this cooking class in Melbourne, you'll learn how to make dumplings. You'll be taught by an experienced chef who will show you how to mix the ingredients and shape your pork, chicken, beef or vegetarian dumplings. At the end of the class, you'll get to sit down to enjoy some of the dumplings you've made, and you'll be able to take the rest home.

    • Visitors need to be at least 10 years old.
    • This activity isn't suitable for people with reduced mobility.
    • Visitors need to show a valid photo ID.
    • Arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time.
    • At least 8 participants are required for the tour to go ahead. If the minimum isn't reached, you'll be offered a new date or a full refund.

    What You Need to Know

    To get there by train: Take the train to North Richmond Station and then take a tram or 12-minute walk to the class location.

    To get there by car: There is limited street parking available during the day on Victoria and surrounding streets. Alternatively, you can park your vehicle in Victoria Gardens Shopping Center where two hours or more paid parking is available. The class location is just a five-minute walk from the Shopping Center.

    To get there by tram: Take Route 109 (Box Hill to Port Melbourne) or Route 12 (St Kilda to Victoria Gardens), travel along Victoria Street and disembark at stop 22 (McKay St/Victoria St), which is a one-minute walk to the class location. You can also take Route 78 (Prahran to Richmond) which stops at the corner of Church and Victoria Streets and is only one block from the class location.

    To get there by bike: Bicycles can be stored and locked securely outside at the front of the class. If you need to park your bike in the back, please enter via the Victoria Street main entrance and arrive at least ten minutes prior to your class so the bicycle can be stored without interruption to the class.

    Please note that there is no room to store luggage or large bags during this class.

    This class can be canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. In such situations, you'll either be provided with an alternative date or a refund.

    Please wear comfortable clothing that is not oversize as this can be a safety hazard in the kitchen. Please wear flat, non-slip, closed-toe shoes. If you are not wearing the appropriate clothing and footwear you can be refused the right to participate with no refund.

    Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair.

    This activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.

    This activity cannot accommodate pushchairs.

    The dumpling menu includes pork, chicken, beef and vegetarian dumplings.

    Sample ingredients you'll use can include:

    - Herbs and spices: chilies, spring onion, shallots, ginger, Chinese chives

    - Seasonings: soy sauce, red vinegar, hoisin sauce, fish sauce, chili oil, rice wine

    - Vegetables: Chinese cabbage, mushroom, water chestnuts

    - Meats: pork, chicken, beef

    - Seafood: fish and/or prawn

    - Flour for the dumpling skins
