Bali's cultural centre, Ubud, is a world away from the island's main resorts. This morning tour takes you to some of its main attractions, including iconic rice fields, sprawling markets and a monkey forest.
First on the agenda is a visit to Tegalalang rice terrace. Nestled deep in Bali's verdant valleys, the ancient irrigation system is an agricultural icon with UNESCO world heritage status. Stroll through the fields and admire the greenery surrounding you.
Next, you'll take a scenic drive via the village of Petulu onto central Ubud. Here, explore the grounds of the 16th-century palace where the current royal family still lives. Then, its on to Ubud Market where you can browse the stalls for Balinese handicrafts and textiles. To round off the tour, there's a stop at a monkey forest. Wander around amongst the long-tailed macaques which inhabit the area. You'll then be taken back to your hotel.
