Akrafjall is a picturesque mountain near Akranes that boasts some of the most stunning panoramic views in West Iceland. Overlooking Faxaflói Bay, this striking peak was once shaped by ancient glaciers and surrounded by water during the Ice Age, leaving behind a rugged yet mesmerizing terrain.

Our route takes us to the mountain’s highest peak, Geirmundartindur (643m / 2130 ft), where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views stretching from Reykjanes to Snæfellsjökull Glacier.

Along the way, discover hidden trails, waterfalls, secret viewpoints, and untouched wilderness far from the tourist paths.

Guided by an expert mountain leader, this adventure goes beyond just hiking. You’ll gain hands-on experience in orienteering, learning to navigate Iceland’s wild terrain using a compass, altimeter, and natural landmarks.
