On this three-hour private tour, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the ruins of Herculaneum – once a popular seaside retreat for the wealthy Romans – accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. After the eruption of Vesuvius in CE 79, Herculaneum lay well-protected under the volcanic ashes until the 18th century.

You'll have the chance to explore its cobbled streets and admire the almost-intact buildings, which offer a unique insight into ancient Roman culture and customs. Some of the highlights include the thermal baths, Thermopolium and the stunning mosaics in the House of Neptune and Amphitrite. You'll also retrace the final hours of Herculaneum with a visit to the Marina Gate and the beach.
