On this walking tour, you will stroll around Sassi – a part of Matera that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and designated as the 2019 European Capital of Culture.
You will navigate the maze of houses and churches carved into limestone rock along with your guide. As you take in the sights, you will hear some stories about Sassi and what makes it an ideal location for films that retell biblical narratives.
Aside from the Sassi, you will also get to see the Church of Purgatory and Matera Cathedral.
