Are you tired of crowded city tours? Why not explore the Japanese countryside?

Toyama City was selected as one of the 52 Places to Go in 2025 by The New York Times. As someone born and raised in this city, I would love to introduce my hometown to people worldwide.

First, we will take a city tram to Iwase Beach, where you can experience a rare scenic landscape — the breathtaking combination of the sea and 3,000-meter-class mountain ranges. If the weather is clear, you can enjoy this unique view.

Next, we’ll walk to the traditional housing district. Iwase once flourished as a hub for merchant shipping, and some of the old houses from that era are still standing today. We can visit them and step back in time to experience the town’s rich history.

After that, we’ll head to a local restaurant to enjoy fresh local food. You can also try sake tasting or craft beer.
