Come hungry and curious as you explore the alternative heart of Oslo through its flavours and stories. Starting at the historic Mathallen food hall, your guide will lead you on a walk through the buzzing district of Grünerløkka, where industry once ruled and culture now thrives. You’ll follow the Akerselva river, past colourful street art and local landmarks, and learn how this former working-class area became a hotspot for creativity, food, and culture.

    Meet your guide at Mathallen Food Hall’s main courtyard entrance (Vulkan 5). Look for the red brick building with “1908” above “MATHALLEN OSLO.” This entrance faces the open square near Dansens Hus. Do not go to the river bridge side with “Mathallen” in red letters — that’s the wrong entrance.
