This is a unique hike, unlike most tourist activities, in that you will be accompanied by a local biologist that will assist you in finding and identifying the diverse plants and animals of the region. We will be hiking to the canyon of El Silencio and the spring El Ojo de Agua. Both of these trails are located on private property with limited access within the protected area known as the Reserva Especial de la Biosfera Cajón del Diablo. The microclimate at these locations is wetter and cooler than the surrounding desert creating an oasis with an abundance of native fan palms amongst lush vegetation.
