On this guided tour from Sousse, you'll take a full-day excursion to visit the holy city of Kairouan and the Roman amphitheatre of El Djem. You'll start in the walled city of Kairouan with its quiet, narrow streets, whitewashed houses with brightly painted shutters and brick-laid archways. A highlight here will be the Great Mosque, which is considered one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture in the region. It features a large prayer hall, a courtyard and a minaret. You'll also see the Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum, known for its tilework and stucco decorations. You'll then stop somewhere for lunch and then head to the El Djem amphitheatre, the third-largest built by the Romans.
