On this small-group tour, you'll travel to Side to discover its ancient charms. You'll begin by making your way to the Temple of Apollo, traversing glass walkways over the ruins of Roman streets while your guide explains the history of the once-bustling port. You'll see the marketplace where slaves were traded, the Byzantine hospital and the Vespasian Gate, and you'll enter the amphitheater that seated up to 20, 000 spectators. At the Temple of Apollo, you'll see the remnants of the columns where Antony and Cleopatra were rumored to have met up, against the backdrop of the ocean. You can also see the Temple of Athena next door. After the guided portion of the tour, you'll have free time to explore contemporary Side, try out the street food or browse the bazaar.
